Detroit Lions cancel practice in wake of police shooting of Jacob Blake

The Detroit Lions decided to halt team practice on Tuesday, in response to the police shooting of 29-year old Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The incident, in which Blake was multiple seven times in the back by Kenosha police officers as he walked to his SUV, was caught on camera and has inspired renewed protests and demonstrations across America. On Tuesday, Blake’s father revealed that his son was paralyzed from the waist down. Blake was shot in front of his children. The Lions were the first NFL team on Tuesday to halt activities in demonstration for social justice. The players spoke to the media following the decision, in which they said that football was not as important today as using their platform to create change. Posting to the Aldi Mums Facebook group, Danielle said she 'highly recommends' the $5.99 'Small Talk' Shiraz, which is available in a one litre bottle. 2 lawsuits challenge Trump's drilling plan in Alaska refuge

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Environmental groups wasted no time challenging the Trump administration´s attempt to allow oil and gas drilling in an Alaska refuge where polar bears and caribou roam. Two lawsuits filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Anchorage sought to block the Interior Department's plan to allow oil and gas lease sales on the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge - a 1.56 million-acre strip of land along Alaska´s northern Beaufort Sea coast, or about 8% of the 19.3 million-acre refuge. In one lawsuit, the National Audubon Society, Center for Biological Diversity, Natural Resources Defense Council and Friends of the Earth sued David Bernhardt, the Interior Department secretary who approved the oil and gas lease sales last week. Garcelle Beauvais is set to join The Real as a co-host for the series' seventh season premiering September 21.  The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was announced as the new co-host by Variety on Monday.   Beauvais, 53, will join Jeannie Mai, Loni Love and Adrienne  Houghton to helm the show after Amanda Seales and Tamera Mowry-Housley departed earlier this summer. Jimmy Kimmel back on set for ABC reboot of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire as game show enters second season

Jimmy Kimmel is back on set for ABC. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host was slated to return in person for his second season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, after not having been in the studio for more than five months, Deadline reported on Monday. Kimmel had last recorded episodes of the game show on March 14 sans an audience at the beginning of the national shutdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
