The 15-year-old who grew up to be Marilyn Monroe: Rare high school photo

With her mouse-brown curls and shy grin, the pretty girl in the seventh row of the black and white school photo bears little resemblance to the pouting blonde bombshell she would become. But she does have a glint in her eye that suggests she knew she was heading for greater things. In 1941, when the class photograph was taken, the future Marilyn Monroe was Norma Jeane Baker; just another pupil at Ralph Wardo Emerson Junior High School in Los Angeles. Can you spot her? Teacher turned child-porn suspect who took top spot from Bin Laden

A former D.C. teacher who took the place vacated by Osama bin Laden on the FBI’s 10 Most-Wanted list after being accused of producing child pornography has been arrested in Nicaragua. Eric Justin Toth, 31, was a former third grade teacher at the prestigious Beauvoir-National Cathedral School in Washington D.C in 2008 when a school camera allegedly in his possession was found to contain pornographic images. While it is unclear how many children Toth abused or possibly molested because his indictment is under seal at a federal court, it is known that Toth has been on the run since December 2008. The radicalization of Tamerlan Tsarnaev: Older 'bomber'

In America, he had been a cocky and charismatic heavyweight boxer who wore fancy pointy leather shoes and slick white shirts down to the gym. In Dagestan, the volatile southern Russian region where he lived for a time as a teen and returned to spend the first half of 2012, he became a quiet young man who spent his days online studying Islam, nursing a growing anger against heretics. Exactly what turned Tamerlan Tsarnaev into the suspect accused of three murders and mass wounding in the Boston Marathon bombings may never be known. He died in a gunfight with police leaving no explanation. His younger brother and alleged co-conspirator Dzhokhar is in hospital, barely able to speak. But a picture has emerged in the days since Tamerlan was killed of a proud but angry young man who never quite achieved his own idea of the American dream, but found solace instead in a radical form of Islam adopted by fighters in his homeland. What now seems clear is that he was deeply influenced by a few mo

Paedophile with HIV jailed for having unprotected sex with young boy

Top judges say there is nothing they can do to stop a 'predatory paedophile' with HIV - jailed for having unprotected sex with a young boy - from working in many jobs where he could encounter children. Stelios Kimpriktzis, 38, groomed his underage victim online and lured him to woods where he persuaded him to have sex. He concealed his illness. The former shopworker, of Ivy Leigh, Liverpool, was jailed for three years at Chester Crown Court after he was convicted of two counts of sexual activity with a child, one of meeting a child after sexual grooming and one of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm in April 2006. Kimpriktzis, now free, was also handed a sexual offences prevention order (SOPO) banning him working anywhere he might come into contact with children under 16, among other restrictions. Three of the country's most senior judges have now upheld a challenge by Kimpriktzis against his SOPO, opening the way for him to take jobs where children may cross his path

The man who has eaten at 6,300 different Chinese restaurants across America

A Chinese food lover has eaten at 6,300 different restaurants and travelled across America feeding his obsession with Oriental cuisine. But despite eating Chinese food all his life, David Chan still cannot use chopsticks. Mr Chan's quest began in earnest after college when he tried to eat at every Chinese restaurant in his home city of Los Angeles. His passion for the cuisine has since taken him to 50 states. The 64-year-old accountant has charted every meal on an Excel spreadsheet and over the past 58 years, Mr Chan has tried a new Chinese restaurant on average every three days. His incredible feat is even more remarkable as Mr Chan hated Chinese food when he was a child. The third-generation Asian-American preferred spaghetti or meatloaf until he discovered the joys of Chinese food when he was at college. Such is Mr Chan’s expertise on Chinese food that restaurant critics often ask him for suggestions on good places to try and he has also written about the country’s cuisine and
