A mother and her young daughter have allegedly been gang-raped by six men 'in revenge' for dishonour to one of the attacker's relatives. Police said that the men raped the women in the Champaran district of Bihar, northern India because the mother's son had eloped with one of their sisters. It is believed that the victims were kidnapped from Sariswa village and taken to one of the attacker's houses. Outrage: Opposition leader Sushma Swaraj lead a protest this week against the wave of sexual attacks on Indian women According to the police, they believed the boy's mother knew about the couple's whereabouts, but would not reveal it to them. The couple reportedly went missing in January and have not been traced since. A medical examination of the two women confirmed that they were raped on April 18. The police said they arrested the suspects within 36 hours of the complaint being lodged. More... Foreign journalist banned from hearing December 16 gang-rape
