UPDATE 1-Amazon faces new antitrust challenge from Indian online sellers -legal documents

By Aditya Kalra NEW DELHI, Aug 26 - A group of more than 2,000 online sellers has filed an antitrust case against Amazon in India, alleging the U.S. company favours some retailers whose online discounts drive independent vendors out of business, a legal filing seen by Reuters showed. The case presents a new regulatory challenge for Amazon in India, where it has committed $6.5 billion in investment but is battling a complex regulatory environment. In January, the Competition Commission of India had ordered an investigation of Amazon and rival Flipkart, owned by Walmart, over alleged violations of competition law and certain discounting practices, which Amazon is challenging, according to court filings. In the latest case, the All India Online Vendors Association, members of which sell goods on Amazon and Flipkart, allege Amazon engages in unfair business practices. Israel launches air strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon after shots were fired at its troops across the border

Israel said it had launched air strikes against Hezbollah observation posts in Lebanon on Wednesday, after shots were fired from across the border towards its troops the previous evening. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the shooting on Shiite militant group Hezbollah with which Israel fought a devastating month-long war in 2006, and pledged a 'forceful' response to any further incidents. MILWAUKEE - A pair of Major League Baseball games were postponed Wednesday as players across the sports landscape reacted in the wake of the weekend shooting by police of Jacob Blake, a Black man, in Wisconsin. Games between the Cincinnati Reds and Brewers in Milwaukee and the Seattle Mariners and Padres in San Diego were called off hours before they were set to begin. Other MLB games had finished, were in progress or just about to start when the announcements were made. The baseball postponements came after the NBA´s Milwaukee Bucks didn´t come out on the floor for Game 5 of their first-round playoff series with the Orlando Magic on Wednesday afternoon at Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Wisconsin AG says police recovered a knife from the driver's side floor of Jacob Blake's car and confirms that ONE cop shot him seven times as they responded to 911 call from Blake's girlfriend

Jacob Blake, the black man shot in the back seven times in front of his three young children by Wisconsin police, had a knife in his posession, the Wisconsin Attorney General revealed. The Wisconsin Department of Justice provided some of the first details surrounding the police shooting on Wednesday, revealing Blake had a knife and the name of the officer who opened fire.  That knife was later recovered from the driver's side floorboard of his SUV, but it's unclear if Blake had it on him when he was talking to police.  Blake, a 29-year-old father of six, was shot multiple times in the back by Kenosha officers responding to a dispute at the scene on Sunday evening, sparking national outrage and heated protests decrying police brutality. ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Ida Rose Jacomet, 37, was last seen Oct. 2, 1975, at the Circle M Bar on an old highway near Fairbanks, Alaska. The only clue left behind was that her purse was found in the parking lot. If she is alive today, she would be 82. Valerie Sifsof disappeared from a campground about 65 miles southeast of Anchorage, last seen by her boyfriend about midnight on July 7, 2012. Search teams tried in vain but never found Sisof or her body. She would be 51 years old, if she´s alive. In the village of Fort Yukon, located just above the Arctic Circle 400 miles north of Anchorage, 62-year-old Lorraine Juanita Ginnis was spotted walking near her home Oct. 4, 2018. She hasn´t been seen since. These women are among the hundreds of Alaska Native or American Indian women who have gone missing over the years, and in many instances, their cases have gone cold. The WNBA postponed its three games Wednesday night following the shooting of Jacob Blake over the weekend. The move came hours after the NBA decided to postpone its three playoff games with its players choosing to boycott in their strongest statement yet against racial injustice. "We know it´s a very emotional time for our players. They are struggling with what´s been happening in this country for months, if not yearss," said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, who said the league supports its players decision to not play Wednesday night. In Bradenton, Florida, in the WNBA bubble, Washington was set to play Atlanta, Minnesota was going to face Los Angeles, and Connecticut was going to meet Phoenix.
