The Rev Augusto Zampini - one of the key members of the pontiff's Covid-19 commission - acknowledged that at the age of 83 and with part of his lung having been removed after an illness in his youth, Francis would be at high risk for complications if he were to become infected with Covid-19. Northern Ireland's Health Minister Robin Swann has blasted Covid deniers for their 'deluded' beliefs, urging them to 'stay in the house' and 'out of the road'. A man has admitted trying to kill two elderly women in horrific and 'motiveless' knife attacks - stabbing one of them nine times, and cutting the throat of the other. Jayden Hayes, 24, struck twice in Oldham, Greater Manchester, in separate incidents three weeks apart. He pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder at Manchester Crown Court. Nearly 6,000 Afghan civilians were killed or wounded in the first nine months of the year as heavy fighting between government forces and Taliban insurgents rages on despite efforts to find peace, a new United Nations report has found. U.S. jeweler Tiffany & Co and French luxury goods giant LVMH are in talks to settle their dispute over a $16 billion takeover at a price slightly lower than initially agreed, sources familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. The Metropolitan Police have deployed extra officers to Hammersmith and Fulham and Hackney as the Government tries to control those boroughs with the highest rates of coronavirus transmission. As the nation continues to grapple with the pandemic, officers will conduct extra patrols in the worst-affected areas in the capital to help clampdown on breaches of the regulations.
