A major clean up operation began in New York City early Sunday morning following a night of celebrations after Joe Biden was named the next president of the United States.  Crews were on hand to remove trash strewn across lawns, left under benches and around the fountain in Washington Square Park. Teenager is struck and killed by a 'devastated' 80-year-old driver while crossing the road with his sister as witnesses describe the 'horrific' scene

A teenager has died after a car struck him while he tried to cross the road outside a school. The 19-year-old man and his sister had been walking along a pedestrian crossing at Childs Roads outside Lalor North College, in Melbourne's northern suburbs, at 7.30pm on Sunday. Police were alerted to the scene by a neighbor of Paul Sarver, who told a 911 operator that the 53-year-old father had just come over to his home with his daughter, 11, and asked to borrow a gun.  The neighbor, who wasn't named by police, said Sarver also made repeated threats that he was going to kill himself.  Sarver left his neighbor's home empty handed, but told them to look after his daughter and keep her safe before returning to his residence alone. Families could save up to $130 on their electricity bills annually thanks to a groundbreaking renewable energy plan which will also see the creation of more than 9000 jobs. The energy plan is part of the NSW government's long-term pledge to  deliver a high level of electricity infrastructure for residents.  The state road map, which will reveal the best ways to deliver  renewable energy zones, energy storage and on demand supply, is expected to generate an estimated $32billion in private investment. An Arkansas police chief has been forced to resign after he allegedly threatened to shoot Black Lives Matter and Antifa protesters and warned of 'death to all Marxist Democrats'.  Lang Holland left his role as Marshall's Chief of Police after the comments surfaced online over the weekend, ABC7 reports.  Holland is also reported to have shared other user's posts threatening Democratic politicians and called transgender people 'mentally defective' and 'perverted freaks.'  In a post from Friday the Parler account, with the user name @langholland, posted: 'Death to all Marxist Democrats.
