The £26 MILLION heist: How Tamara Ecclestone and Frank Lampard ‘fell prey to gang of crooks who flew in to stage raids on some of London’s most exclusive homes’

An international gang flew into the UK to carry out a burglary spree on the homes of the rich and famous including Formula 1 heiress Tamara Ecclestone, a court heard. The alleged thieves stole £26million in jewellery and cash in the 13-day blitz which also targeted footballer Frank Lampard and the billionaire owner of Leicester City. The team of eight are said to have blown some of the cash on luxury goods and champagne in the shadow of their victims’ homes in west London before fleeing Britain. The jury in the trial of a mother, son and two others accused of aiding the Italy-based gang heard how they hit the jackpot in the raid on the 55-room mansion where Miss Ecclestone and husband Jay Rutland live. They netted a £25million haul after breaking in unnoticed – with one security guard having popped out to Tesco – through the back garden of the home in Kensington’s ‘Billionaires’ Row’. The burglar alarms were turned off – leading Miss Ecclestone, who was away with her family at the time

We WILL show families we care this Christmas: Health Secretary Matt Hancock vows to ring-fence supply of Covid swabs for those visiting relatives in care homes - but is it too little too late?

Matt Hancock last night offered families hope on care home testing – but was told by campaigners to move much faster. The Health Secretary has vowed to ring-fence a supply of coronavirus swabs for family visitors in the run-up to Christmas. And he said a pilot scheme at 20 sites would end the need for ‘prison-style’ plastic screens and other restrictions. But care home bosses warned the trial did not go far enough or fast enough. They pleaded with ministers to roll out rapid tests to all sites immediately. Campaigners say the health of many residents in the nation’s 12,000 care homes is quickly deteriorating and they cannot wait another day to see loved ones. ‘Every day without tests is another lost opportunity for people who haven’t got long left in life to see their families,’ said Nadra Ahmed of the National Care Association. Oregon Governor issues strictest lockdown measures in the U.S. with two-week 'freeze' shutting down gyms, restricting restaurants to take-out and limiting gatherings to just SIX people - despite no steady increase in COVID fatalities

Oregon's Governor has issued the strictest lockdown measures in America as the state experiences a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.  During a press conference on Friday, Gov. Kate Brown ordered a two-week statewide 'freeze' on businesses and gatherings - the harshest restrictions since the stay-at-home order imposed on Oregonians at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic back in March.  The freeze will start next Wednesday, November 18 and run through December 2. In Portland, which is experiencing the largest increase in cases, the freeze will be extended to four weeks.  As part of the order, all gyms will be closed, while bars and restaurants will be prohibited from providing dine-in service.  Additionally, there will be restrictions on the number of people allowed inside grocery stores and pharmacies at any one time, while all indoor and outdoor social gatherings will be limited to six people.   There will be no exemptions on social gatherings for Thanksgi

Beaming in a crown and birthday sash, care home resident Audrey celebrates turning 90 in style – and with her family by her side. She was able to spend the day surrounded by the people she loves after the bosses at her residence took it upon themselves to offer routine weekly testing to family members at the start of October. The move at the Kepplegate home in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, has enabled face-to-face visits with no need to be separated by prison-style screens.  And Audrey was able to enjoy opening her presents and sharing cake with her daughter Shelly and son-in-law Mark.  Party time: Audrey, a resident at the Kepplegate home in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, celebrates her 90th birthday with cake brought in by her daughter Shelly Audrey, pictured at her 90th birthday party, as she was able to enjoy opening her presents and sharing cake with her daughter Shelly and son-in-law Mark The home, which has allowed indoor socially distanced visits since July, has not had a single
