Irish leaders last night said a Brexit agreement could finally be in sight.  Despite Boris Johnson urging caution, Micheal Martin, the taoiseach, said both sides could see ‘the landing zones’. Lesbian couples are TWICE as likely to divorce as married gay men, ONS data reveals as overall rates see largest rise in 50 years

Lesbian couples are more than twice as likely to divorce as gay men, Government data suggests.  The Office for National Statistics published annual research on Tuesday looking at divorces in England and Wales last year.  As well as the overall number of divorces seeing their largest rise in 50 years, the data showed there were 822 same-sex splits in 2019 - nearly twice as many as 2018, when there were 428. Of those same-sex couples who divorced last year, 589 - 72 per cent - took place between women. Justice Department drops drug trafficking charges against former Mexican defense minister dubbed 'The Godfather' so he could be investigated by Mexico

The Justice Department is dropping its drug trafficking and money laundering case against former Mexican defense secretary General Salvador Cienfuegos, Attorney General William Barr said on Tuesday. Barr said the department would drop its case so Cienfuegos 'may be investigated and, if appropriate, charged, under Mexican law.'  The 72-year-old - nicknamed El Padrino, or 'The Godfather' - was taken into custody at Los Angeles International Airport last month.  He was accused of using his office to protect Mexico's H-2 narcotics cartel.  Cienfuegos, who led Mexico's army for six years under ex-President Enrique Peña Nieto, was the highest-ranking former Cabinet official arrested since the top Mexican security official Genaro Garcia Luna was arrested in Texas in 2019. Colorado cops investigate 'possible serial killing' after multiple human remains were found at two properties in tiny town in the San Luis Valley

An investigation into a possible serial killing is underway in Colorado after the remains of multiple people were discovered in the San Luis Valley. A group of tourists were forced to swim in crocodile infested waters after the car they were travelling in got stuck at a notorious river crossing.  Pictures captured the morning after the blue Subaru Forester became stranded at Cahills Crossing, in Kakadu National Park, in the Northern Territory on Monday night.  The group were forced to abandon the car and swim across the river filled with dozens of saltwater crocodiles.  Locals were unable to cross the river the following morning as the car remained there until late on Tuesday.
