Couple is kicked off a United flight to New Jersey after their two-year-old daughter refused to wear a face mask - and now face lifetime ban from airline

A young mother says she and her husband were kicked off a United Airlines flight because their two-year-old daughter refused to wear a mask. Eliz Orban was in tears during a video she shared Friday on Instagram showing herself in the airport along with her husband and daughter, Edeline, after getting off the plane.  'We just got kicked off a flight because our two-year-old would not put on a mask,' Orban, who was flying with her family from Colorado to Newark, New Jersey, said.  'And we're banned off United forever because a two-year-old would not put on a mask,' Orban added.  The Instagram clip then showed Orban and her husband trying to put the mask on their daughter's face.  But Edeline is seen visibly upset and refusing to put the mask on.  At one point, a gate agent comes aboard the plane, walks over to the family's seats and asks them to leave.  Eliz Orban was in tears during a video she shared on Instagram showing herself in the airport along with

Six-year-old video game 'addict' racks up $16,000 bill on his mom’s credit card while playing Sonic Forces on her iPad - and now family might have to cancel Christmas

A six-year-old boy from Connecticut secretly spent $16,000 on his mum's credit card buying upgrades for his favorite video game, Sonic Forces.  In July, George Johnson used mom Jessica's iPad to go on a spending spree in Apple's app-store, buying virtual 'golden rings' costing $1.99 to $99.99 that unlocked new characters and levels.   Now the family can't afford their mortgage and might be forced to cancel Christmas. They say Apple has refused to return the money, saying the parents had failed to turn the child-proof settings on.  Real-estate broker Jessica Johnson, 41, of Wilton, likened her child's behavior to a drug addict and called the games 'predatory'. 'It’s like my 6-year-old was doing lines of cocaine — and doing bigger and bigger hits,'  she said.  'These games are designed to be completely predatory and get kids to buy things, What grown-up would spend $100 on a chest of virtual gold coins?'   When George was told what he h

Trump tweets that he will veto Defense Act despite overwhelming support in Congress because the 'biggest winner' would be China

Donald Trump said Sunday that he will go through with vetoing the National Defense Authorization Act even though the annual budget has overwhelming support among Republican in Congress. 'THE BIGGEST WINNER OF OUR NEW DEFENSE BILL IS CHINA!. I WILL VETO!' Trump asserted in a tweet Sunday morning posted in all caps. The president's stubbornness on this particular bill will most surely set him up for his first veto override just a few weeks before his term ends after the Republican-led Senate voted 84-13 for the budget on Friday – a veto-proof majority. Trump warned ahead of the vote that he would veto if a few demands were not met, including putting an end to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. GOP leaders say that while the provision does need to be completed to strip legal liability protections for social media platforms and 'big tech', they also argue it has nothing to do with the military. The Senate passed the NDAA by huge margins Friday, daring Trump

Britons are urged not to stockpile food amid post-Brexit trading fears as Ikea apologises to customers for stock shortages triggered by congestion at UK ports

British shoppers have been urged to avoid stockpiling food in the event of a No-Deal Brexit. Retailers are increasing stocks to ensure a 'sufficient supply of essential products', the British Retail Consortium insisted. The retail trade association also said No-Deal Brexit would impact fresh produce like fruit and vegetables - which cannot be stored for long - rather than long-life shelf items. Britain has been facing chaos at its ports caused by the perfect storm of Covid, the festive rush and Brexit stockpiling. Container pileups at Southampton, Felixstowe and London Gateway mean Christmas presents may go undelivered and food could go off at the dockside. Earlier today, Ikea was forced to apologise to irate customers after they complained of stock shortages and delayed orders. The Swedish flat-pack furniture conglomerate blamed congestion at UK ports after it was hit by a wave of complaints from shoppers angry at missing, delayed and damaged orders. British shoppers have been

Four in ten voters say Trump will go down as 'one of the worst presidents' in U.S. history as 58 per cent say they don't believe election was stolen

A poll released Saturday shows 42 per cent of registered voters think Donald Trump will go down in history as one of America's worst presidents of all time – as more than half say they don't believe the election was stolen. Of the 1,007 respondents, the Fox News poll found only 22 per cent believe Trump will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history. It also showed that 54 per cent of registered voters have an unfavorable view of Trump as he has just over a month left in office before Joe Biden is sworn in. And 55 per cent think the country is worse off now than it was four years ago. The December 6-9 survey comes as Trump continues to blast the presidential election results, claiming on Twitter Sunday morning it was the 'MOST CORRUPT ELECTION IN U.S. HISTORY!' Forty-two per cent of registered voters think Donald Trump will go down in history as one of America's worst presidents of all time, a new poll revealed Notably, respondents said they we

Seattle City Council considers new 'poverty defense' to excuse misdemeanor crimes such as theft and assault if culprit is homeless, addicted to drugs or has mental health issues

Seattle City Council is considering a new criminal code regulation that would see it become the first municipality in the US to excuse misdemeanor crimes if they can be linked to poverty, addiction, or mental health disorders. The concept, known as the poverty defense, was discussed Tuesday by the Seattle City Council's Public Safety Committee after it was introduced by Councilmember Lisa Herbold and Anita Khandelwal, the King County’s director of the Department of Public Defense. Under the defense, an accused suspect could possibly be absolved of a crime – such as theft, assault, or trespassing – if they committed the offense to meet a basic need to survive. ‘In a situation where you took that sandwich because you were hungry and you were trying to meet your basic need of satisfying your hunger; we as the community will know that we should not punish that. That conduct is excused,’ Khandelwal said, according to KOMO . The proposal, however, excludes misdemeanors related to domesti
