The father-of-two suffered multiple injuries in the collision and was knocked unconscious, plunging beneath the water.  Three fellow surfers rushed to his rescue and dragged Wesley to shore while performing CPR on him.  He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries seven days later on December 20. Rockets star James Harden 'is under investigation for maskless strip club appearance in violation of NBA protocol and could miss opener' - but he says it was a party for his 'homegirl'

The NBA and the Houston Rockets are reportedly examining video of James Harden apparently partying maskless at a club  to see if the disgruntled All-Star violated the league's COVID-19 protocols.   The video, published by Black Sports Online, allegedly originated at a Christmas party this week at a club in Houston. BSO and ESPN both initially reported that the venue was a strip club, which Harden disputed on Instagram. 'One thing after another,' Harden wrote. 'I went to show love to my homegirl at her event (not a strip club). Because she is becoming a boss, and putting her people in positions of success, and now it’s a problem. California healthcare system teeters on brink of collapse as doctors are forced to treat COVID patients in hospital hallways, gift shops and makeshift tents - yet ONE THIRD of LA residents defy lockdown

California's health care system is buckling under the strain of the nation's largest coronavirus outbreak, with health officials pleading for residents to stay home for Christmas as the number of people needing hospital beds soars to unimagined levels. As of Monday, more than 18,961 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 across the state, with the number of available ICU beds dwindling daily, according to the state health department.  Medical staff at the state's largest hospital systems - Kaiser Permanente, Dignity Health and Sutter Health - which together cover 15million Californians - say they have been pressed into service outside their normal duties as they grapple with the alarming surge.  As hospitals surpass their usual patient capacity, staff have been forced to tend to COVID-19 patients stacked up in hallways and conference rooms, executives said on Tuesday.       At Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center, 70 per cent of the 278 patients currently admitted are bei

NHS workers 'frustrated' as admin staff get Covid vaccines BEFORE frontline doctors and HALF of hospital trusts and hundreds of GPs across the country wait for first jab deliveries

NHS workers are 'frustrated' that admin staff are being offered the Covid-19 vaccine before frontline doctors and nurses and that hospitals and GP surgeries face delays to deliveries of the crucial jab. The British Medical Association warned it was 'deeply worrying' that access to the jab was not equal across the health service, amid concerns that GPs in high risk roles are being turned away from vaccination hubs. Writing in a letter to the chief executive of NHS England Sir Simon Stevens, BMA chairman Dr Chaand Nagpaul said there was 'no consistent approach' to vaccinating frontline staff for the virus, and urged trusts to prioritise those who are most at risk. The Doctors Association UK wrote to the Health Secretary Matt Hancock to call on him to let all doctors and nurses know when they would receive the vaccine. The programme has been hit by delays since it started but had managed to get jabs into the arms of 500,000 people by Monday, Boris Johnson said. B
