Blundering cop destroys £64,000 drone by pressing the wrong buttons on its remote control panel... causing it to drop out of the sky

A blundering police officer wrecked a £64,000 drone by pressing the wrong buttons on its remote control panel, causing it to drop out of the sky. The officer, who has not been named, launched the top-of-the-range craft to use its thermal imaging camera in a night-time search for a missing person. But a warning icon which he did not recognise appeared on the tablet computer he was using to fly the quadcopter. The officer had launched the Aeryon SkyRanger R60 drone to use its thermal cameras to search for a missing person when it plummeted to the ground The 33-year-old officer tried to remove the warning symbol by repeatedly pressing it, not realising he was shutting down the drone’s four electric motors.  The operator, who had only six hours’ experience flying drones, watched in horror as the craft plunged 70ft into a large pond at Maidenbower near Crawley, West Sussex. The mishap prompted a report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.  Investigators revealed that the Aeryon SkyRan

Rand Paul warns ONE THIRD of Republicans will leave the party if McConnell allows Trump to be convicted in impeachment trial as president plans revenge on ten GOP lawmakers who voted against him

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) declared that roughly 'a third' of all Republicans would leave the party if GOP senators team up with Democrats to impeach President Donald Trump as the lame duck president seeks to punish the 10 Republican representatives that voted for impeachment. Speaking with Fox News host Laura Ingraham Friday, Paul claimed that efforts to impeach Trump after he incited the mob last week were 'purely a partisan thing.'  'I didn't agree with the fight that happened last week, and I voted against overturning the election,' Paul said.  'But at the same time, the impeachment is a wrongheaded, partisan notion. But if Republicans go along with it, it will destroy the party. A third of the Republicans will leave the party.' Far-right media personality 'Baked Alaska' is arrested by the FBI in Houston after MAGA mob riot where he posted video online inside the Capitol

The far-right social media personality known as 'Baked Alaska', 33, has been arrested by the FBI over his involvement in the MAGA mob riot after he posted a video online showing himself inside the Capitol.    Tim Gionet, who has often pushed neo-Nazi conspiracy theories online, was arrested by federal agents in Houston, Texas, Friday on two charges of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Gionet livestreamed footage of himself among other Donald Trump supporters inside the seat of American democracy after the mob invaded the building and sent lawmakers fleeing for their lives.  His arrest on federal charges comes after an arrest warrant was also issued by a Scottsdale judge Thursday saying Gionet had violated conditions of his release by traveling from Arizona to Washington DC to take part in the deadly siege on the Capitol that left five dead.  He was out on ba

Murders in New York City rose 125% in the first ten days of 2021 compared to the same period last year and experts predict 'it's only going to get worse'

Murders in New York rocketed by 125 per cent in the first 10 days of 2021 with a 20-year-old man shot dead just one hour after the ball dropped in Times Square.  Nine people died between January 1 and 10 this year, compared to four in the same period last new, new figures have shown.  The first victim of the year in the Big Apple was a 20-year-old man shot dead minutes after midnight outside the notorious Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens in Queens.  Shootings have surged by 24 per cent on last year, from 25 to 31 incidents. Gunshot victims increased by 29 per cent from 28 to 36, including a 33-year-old woman struck by a stray bullet as she lay in bed in Brooklyn just minutes after New Year's Eve fell.   The early violence does not bode well for 2021, considering the number of shootings and gun victims in 2020 matched the totals for the two prior years combined. Who can he mean? Rupert Murdoch's youngest son James says there will be a 'reckoning' for media who have promoted 'insidious and uncontrollable forces' that have left the public 'believing a falsehood' after Capitol riots

James Murdoch claimed on Friday that U.S. news outlets will be faced with a 'reckoning' after last week's deadly pro-Trump riot at the U.S. Capitol.  In an interview with the Financial Times , the 48-year-old blamed 'media property owners' for unleashing 'insidious and uncontrollable forces' with their support of disinformation about the 2020 election.   James, the youngest son of billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch, also claimed that media groups fueled the riot by leading 'a substantial portion' of the public to believe 'a falsehood' about the election.  'The damage is profound,' James said in Friday's interview as he criticized media groups coverage of election fraud.  'The sacking of the Capitol is proof positive that what we thought was dangerous is indeed very, very much so. Those outlets that propagate lies to their audience have unleashed insidious and uncontrollable forces that will be with us for years.' He d
