TWELVE National Guardsmen are removed from inauguration security over 'ties to fringe right group militias or extremist online posts' - but general says he is NOT concerned as his 25,000 'ready for anything' troops patrol DC

Twelve National Guardsmen have now been removed from the presidential inauguration security mission after they were found to have ties with right-wing militia groups or posted extremist views online, officials say.  The officials, a senior intelligence official and an Army official briefed on the matter, did not say which fringe group the Guard members belonged to or what unit they served in.  They did say, however, that here was no threat to Joe Biden.  Neither the National Guard or Secret Service would comment on the removal of the Guardsmen.  Their removal from the massive security presence at the nation's capital comes as the FBI worked to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops headed to the area for Biden's inauguration amid concerns of insider threats in the wake of the Capitol riots.  It comes after the National Guard chief, General Daniel Hokanson, said earlier on Tuesday that the 25,000 armed troops protecting DC were 'trained and ready for anything' and h

EU gives initial backing to 'vaccine passports' despite UK government warning travel could spread the disease even after people have had the jabs

Coronavirus vaccine passports could soon be 'recognised' across the EU as leaders give initial backing ahead of a summit this week. Brussels said using the passports to allow greater travel and tourism in the bloc was currently 'premature' but hinted that plans could be picked up in the future. EU commission vice-president Margaritis Schinas said it was 'perfectly imaginable that this can open avenues for other use, including facilitating travel'. He added: 'We feel that now this is the time for these vaccine certificates to be recognised across the European Union, and even beyond the European Union.' Health commissioner Stella Kyriakides also confirmed the Commission was in 'active discussion' with European governments about the scheme.  However, the Department of Health said there were 'no plans' to introduce vaccine passports in the UK amid fears the vaccines may not prevent people from carrying the disease and spreading it around the

MyPillow is 'unavailable' on Macy's site as more retailers sever ties with CEO Mike Lindell over his election fraud claims: Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond claim they've dropped brand due to 'decreased customer demand'

MyPillow is facing further pressure from retailers after CEO Mike Lindell's continued support of conspiracy theories regarding election fraud -- but some store chains are claiming it's due to lagging demand. On Tuesday, the Macy's website listed MyPillow products as 'currently unavailable', one day after Lindell said he'd been dropped by Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl's and Wayfair. Macy's and MyPillow did not immediately respond to inquiries from DailyMail.com asking whether the retailer had formally dropped the product line. Meanwhile, Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl's are claiming that they dropped MyPillow products due to waning customer demand.  'There has been decreased customer demand for MyPillow,' Kohl's said in an email. 'We will sell our current inventory and not buy additional/future inventory in the brand. '  MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell revealed Monday that retail stores have stopped selling his products on account of his c
