A teen drowned his alcoholic father while trying to exorcize his demons through a late night baptism at a Massachusetts pond, a court heard. Jack Callahan pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared in court today accused of killing his father Scott Callahan, 57, CBS Boston reports. The 19-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning after his mom called the police to report he was 'acting erratically.'  The teen had arrived home at 2am, dripping wet, and told his mother his father was missing - despite Jack traveling to pick his father up from a Boston bar earlier that evening, a court heard. He eventually directed the police to Crooker Memorial Park where officers found Scott at the bottom of Island Creek Pond. Scott was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead. Prosecutors in Florida will pursue a grand jury investigation into the deadly collapse of the Champlain Towers condominium building - as a survivor files a lawsuit which describes the pure terror of trying to escape as the building collapsed around her. The grand jury's investigation would examine factors and decisions that led to Thursday's early morning collapse of the 12-story building in Surfside, Miami, that killed at least 11 people and left 150 unaccounted for. Those factors could include serious structural damage that was identified in a 2018 report but did not appear to have been acted upon as the condo board attempted to raise enough funds to tackle the major repairs. If negligence is a factor, those responsible could face criminal charges, such as the third-degree felony murder and manslaughter charges brought in the 1996 accidental crash of ValuJet 592 in the Everglades that killed 110 people. With wings stretching across the Mall, a giant puppet dragon the size of a double-decker bus will star in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant next year, it was revealed yesterday. Other highlights of the event to mark the monarch’s 70-year reign include a trapeze artist hanging from a huge balloon emblazoned with her image. U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm suggested on Tuesday that climate change could have caused the Miami building collapse where sea level has risen about 7 to 8 inches in 40 years. Granholm was asked by CNN if climate change could have played a part in the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South condo building in Surfside, near Miami Beach, which suddenly collapsed around 1:30am last Thursday. Her comments come as Brian McNoldy, a climate and weather researcher at the University of Miami, revealed to CNN that the sea level in Surfside has risen about 7 to 8 inches in the past 40 years primarily from human-caused climate change.  'Obviously, we don't know fully, but we do know that the seas are rising,' Granholm said on Tuesday. 'We know that we're losing inches and inches of beaches, not just in Florida but all around.
