What lockdown? Massive crowds soak up the sun in Coogee and Bondi in Sydney's east as Gladys Berejiklian's pleas for people to stay at home fall on deaf ears

Sydneysiders have made a mockery of the city's shutdown with a day at the beach turning the lockdown into a lie down in the sun. Streets around the world-famous beaches of Coogee and Bondi were packed with locals making the most of the unseasonable weather that saw temperatures rise above 25C.  Despite pleas from NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to stay at home, thousands took to the beach to sun bake, prompting police to call in air support to order people off the sand. @seeshots Have you ever heard a ‍♀️ warning from a  before? ##sydneylockdown ##policeoperation ##lockdownlife ##gordonsbay ##easternsuburbssydney ##coogee ##police ♬ Know Yourself - Drake @seeshots Have you ever heard a ‍♀️ warning from a  before? ##sydneylockdown ##policeoperation ##lockdownlife ##gordonsbay ##easternsuburbssydney ##coogee ##police ♬ Know Yourself - Drake Have you ever heard a ‍♀️ warning from a  before? ##sydneylockdown ##policeoperation ##lockdownlife ##gordonsbay ##easternsuburbssydne

Joe Rogan claims gay and transgender people are the 'most vicious' champions of cancel culture and says they are 'coming after people because they were bullied'

Joe Rogan called gay and transgender people the 'most vicious' upholders of cancel culture in a rant on his podcast. Rogan, 53, claimed on his July 21 episode of the Joe Rogan Experience that gay and transgender people have 'been bullied' and are now coming after people who are not members of the LGBTQ community, as spotted by Mediaite. 'You know what the thing that's going on with the left - a lot of it is, they're being bullies and a lot of the people that are progressive, that are really like open-minded, unfortunately, there is a lot of people on the left that were bullied by a**holes when they were young,' Rogan said on the July 21 episode of his podcast. Comedian Shane Gillis, who joined Rogan on his show, admitted he had been a bully himself but 'not a mean one.' Joe Rogan went on an anti-transgender and homophobic rant on a recent episode of his podcast, calling gay and transgender people the 'most vicious' champions of cancel cul

Read the texts from Ben Roberts-Smith's ex demanding accusers 'prove' war crime claims against her then husband - before she spectacularly turned on him - as she prepares to give evidence AGAINST him

Text messages sent by Ben Roberts-Smith's former wife in support of the war hero before he was publicly accused of killing prisoners have been released.  Emma Roberts says in one message to her friend Danielle Scott that 'someone has said a hell of a lot about Ben but they also have to prove it.' Mr Roberts-Smith is suing Nine newspapers over stories they published in June 2018 accusing him of committing war crimes while serving in Afghanistan with the SAS. The texts from Ms Roberts to Ms Scott were sent a month before the first story's publication. She has since agreed to give evidence against him. Mr Roberts-Smith left Ms Roberts in January 2020 and she gave a statement to Nine a fortnight after their divorce was settled in February this year. When the contents of the texts were first read in court last month, Australia's most decorated soldier took a swipe at his now ex-wife over some of what she had said to Ms Scott.  Text messages sent by Ben Roberts-Smith'

'Advertising on MailOnline is helping take my cycle start-up up a gear!' One entrepreneur on his mission to get Britain on their bikes!

For thousands of entrepreneurs across the country, challenges caused by lockdown restrictions created an ideal opportunity to launch new business ideas. When commuters started to work from home and use public transport less, Ian Steed believed it would be the perfect time to realise his dream to sell his self-designed bicycles. The 43-year-old, from Islington, north London, first fell in love with bikes when he was a child, when his first set of two wheels meant freedom to explore and enjoy countryside adventures. It was with this in mind that Ian started Steed Bikes, offering stylish fixed gear and single speed bikes for urban travel, in April this year. Ian Steed, 43, from north London, wanted to make affordable but stylish fixed gear bikes And although lockdown had caused a surge in demand for bicycles, launching a new product during the pandemic brought its own challenges. Ian said: 'Lockdown was a good thing for the bike-riding world as people were just jumping on their bikes

Adam Kinzinger says he supports Capitol riot committee subpoena for Kevin McCarthy but casts doubt on calling Trump to testify because 'there's a lot of people around him that knew some things'

Adam Kinzinger said Sunday he would be open to calling House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy to testify in front of the Capitol riot committee but suggested it wouldn't be necessary to subpoena Donald Trump. 'I don't know,' Kinzinger said when ABC This Week host Jonathan Karl asked if the panel will want to compel the former president to speak before the committee. 'Again, it's going to depend on where the facts lead,' the Illinois Republican congressman said. 'We may not even have to talk to Donald Trump to get the information. There were tons of people around him. There were tons of people involved in the things that led up to January 6.' Kinzinger, who was the last member brought onto the panel by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last month, said I know that we're going to get to the information' without speaking to Trump. 'I think there's a lot of people around him that knew some things,' he said. There are only two Republicans on

Joust in time! Hit hard by the pandemic, Britain's heritage 're-enactors' are back in force to recreate epic scenes from our past at festivals, fetes and stately homes nationwide. ROBERT HARDMAN joins the fun

One comforting thought is that I am pretty well-protected if the worst comes to the worst. As it might. I am strapped inside 8 st of medieval armour on top of a horse — a stallion, no less — which is heading at a canter for a solid stone rampart and does not understand the meaning of the word ‘Whoa!’. ‘Pull the reins! Pull the reins!’ comes the instruction, which I vaguely hear above the clank and clunk of steel and hoof. As I try to work out whether it’s better to fall off right now, my not-so-trusty steed (called Neville) decides to charge through a medieval gateway and on into the next courtyard. There he finally comes to a halt. Phew! Except, I have just flunked the first test of Knight School. I have dropped my lance.  Unless they get round to a remake of Monty Python And The Holy Grail, I suspect I won’t be asked back. Such is life in the weird and wonderful world of the history re-enactor.  These gallant custodians of our heritage are as much a part of our cultural landscape as
