'It's been a wild ride': Meghan McCain is joined by mom Cindy as she bids farewell to The View after four years and tells her co-hosts she'll cherish the time they spent together

Meghan McCain was joined by her mom Cindy as she bid farewell to ABC's The View after four years, telling her co-hosts she will 'cherish' the time they spent together on the show.  McCain made her final appearance as a host on the popular daytime chat show Friday, following her on-air announcement last month that she was standing down to raise her daughter in Washington DC.   The 36-year-old daughter of the late Senator John McCain described her time as a 'wild ride' and joked that she wanted to apologize to show producer Brian Teta 'for making his blood pressure rise as much as I did.' 'This has been a really wild ride the past four years of my life,' she said.  'It's been, honestly, the best of times, and worst of times in all ways, on and off the show. And it's been a really incredible, liberating experience.' Meghan McCain bid farewell to ABC's The View after four years, describing her time on the show as a 'wild ride'

Fully-vaccinated people who catch Delta Covid variant really may be JUST as infectious as the un-jabbed, Government figures suggest

Fully-vaccinated people who catch Covid really may be just as infectious as the un-jabbed, official data suggested today. Public Health England say viral loads appear similar among people infected with the Delta variant in both groups, meaning, theoretically, they are equally contagious.  But health chiefs insisted the current crop of vaccines still cut the risk of catching the virus in the first place. And the jabs – repeatedly proven to be life-savers – have kept tens of thousands out of hospital since they were first rolled out last December, Government statistics also show. The PHE viral load data follows a huge row in the US, which saw health chiefs make a similar claim. It prompted fury because the data – which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention used to justify recommending vaccinated Americans wear masks again – wasn't published until days later. The graph shows the Ct values for people who catch the Alpha variant (called SGTF, shown in orange, red and brown) com

Ex-Cuomo staffer who now works for LGBTQ advocacy group is SLAMMED for handing over the personnel file of accuser Lindsey Boylan after he'd left the job so the governor's aides could try to discredit her

A former Cuomo staffer who now works as the president of an LGBTQ organization is facing angry criticism after being named in the Attorney General's report because he gave Cuomo's aides the personnel file of accuser Lindsey Boylan, that they then leaked to the media to try to discredit her allegations of sexual harassment.  Alphonso David was Counsel to the Governor in 2018 when Boylan - one of 11 women whose claims of sexual harassment have been substantiated this week by the AG - was also working in the state.  He left the position in August 2019 and is now the President of the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ organization. He appeared on a controversial recent episode of CBS 60 Minutes where he slammed Leslie Stahl for presenting a story on transgender kids changing their minds and called the coverage dangerous. In September 2018, while he was still working with the Governor, he was tasked with putting together a personnel file on Boylan after several assistants complained to

Biden snubs non-union Tesla at White House electric car summit: CEO Elon Musk says absence of the world's largest EV firm at the expense of US 'Big 3' is 'odd'

Joe Biden on Thursday raised eyebrows by failing to invite the world's largest manufacturer of electric vehicles to his EV summit, after appearing to bow to union pressure. Biden invited to the White House the heads of General Motors, Ford and Stellantis - the Dutch-owned firm which makes Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands. The three firms are the three largest employers of members of the United Auto Workers union, which in April 2020 endorsed Biden, bringing the support of 400,000 workers. Tesla, whose Model 3, X and S cars alone make up almost 60 per cent of the U.S. electric car market, according to government data, does not have a unionized work force. Britain's daily Covid cases RISE again by 7% in a week to 31,808 dealing a blow to hopes the third wave has finished - as scientists warn herd immunity may be 'impossible'

Britain's Covid outbreak is still flattening off, according to official statistics that today dismissed hopes that the worst of the third wave was over. Department of Health bosses posted another 31,808 cases today, up 7 per cent on the 29,622 recorded last Friday. The number of victims dying with the virus — a measure which lags weeks behind infections — also increased by 35.3 per cent, jumping from 71 last week to 92. But hospital admissions, which always turn before fatalities, continue to fall. There were 778 people hospitalised with Covid on Monday, down 16.2 per cent on the previous week. The figures come as leading scientists warn achieving herd immunity against Covid is looking ever-increasingly impossible, with neither vaccines nor natural infections triggering 'perfect' protection. Professor Paul Hunter, an infectious diseases expert at the University of East Anglia,  said immunity against SARS-CoV-2 — the virus that causes Covid — is likely to be short-lived.
