Dr Phil denies bankrolling Jodi Arias' family in exchange for notes on her trial calling claims 'absolutely untrue'
Dr Phil has denied reports that he has been paying Jodi Arias' family in exchange for notes on her trial.
The TV psychologist was accused of bankrolling the alleged murderer's parents, putting them up in a hotel in Arizona during her extensive trial in exchange for notes her mother scrawled down in the courtroom.
But Dr Phil has hit back at the claims on Twitter, claiming he's never met the Arias family and neither he nor his production company have handed over a cent.
Innocent: Dr Phil, left, has denied reports that he paid the family of Jodi Arias, right, in exchange for notes on her trial
'Rumors that we're paying for Arias family housing etc... are absolutely untrue,' he tweeted yesterday.
'I've never met the Arias family, and neither I, nor my production company -- has paid or promised them anything. Robin and I are praying for the Alexander family.'
Blogger Chris Stark made the bold claims earlier on Saturday.
Under the heading 'EXCLUSIVE DR PHIL SCOOP and Jodi Family MONEY,' Stark wrote: 'Dr Phil Production Company is paying for #JodiArias Family living expenses. Hotel and food TRAVEL for the last 94 days in Arizona.'
The blogger went on to write: 'Excuse: paying MOM Sandra for her daily NOTES she writes while trial testimony takes place. Dr. Phil producer visited Jodi 2 times in jail so far per jailhouse visitor log.'
Bill Arias, Jodi's father, also denied that the family has worked out a pay deal with Dr Phil, though not because the talk show host didn't offer.
'He asked and we refused. We do not want to deal with him,' Mr Arias told People Magazine. He added that a producer approached him and his wife Sandra for an interview, and that they have never talked with Dr Phil personally.
Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, gave Dr Phil the first TV interview after their daughter's murder trial in exchange for a donation to their non-profit organization, Caylee's Fund, set up in name of the daughter Anthony was accused of killing.
Dr Phil told viewers in September 2011 about the arrangement, insisting 'the couple will derive no income from Caylee's Fund.'
Arias, 32, is accused of killing her boyfriend Travis Alexander by stabbing him 27 times and then shooting him in the head in 2008.
