Sara was only in my mid twenties but felt fat and frumpy. She was sick of trying to squeeze herself into clothes that were obviously too small as she couldn’t admit that she needed a bigger size.
She knew she needed to lose at least 2st and this was really affecting my confidence, along with the health implications it was causing. Having been diagnosed with high blood pressure her GP advised her to lose weight to try and bring it down.

A friend had been really successful with Weight Watchers and she actually suggested that Sara should try it for myself. Following Weight Watchers Online was really convenient for me and I work on a computer most of the time so it fitted in well with my lifestyle.
When she first started following Weight Watchers the main change she made was to my portion sizes. Sara had previously been serving up, and eating, the same portions as my husband - and finishing up whatever was left on his plate. Now she measures everything out and also makes sure she has breakfast every morning – as she goes to the gym most days now she really need the energy boost!

The online tools have been invaluable in her weight loss. She used the ProPoints Tracker to record everything she ate and drank and Activity Tracker to keep a tally of what she was doing. When she was struggling she found it really handy to look back at previous weeks and see what worked for her then. It was especially motivating to see her weight and measurements progressively decreasing on the Weight Tracker – especially on the graph view.
Getting active has also been key. When she subscribed to Weight Watchers she joined a gym. Sara didn’t really know what she should be doing exercise wise so signed up to a couple of Personal Trainer sessions. A year later she is still following his programme and it’s been a great motivator. She actually enjoy going to the gym now and knows she would not have been as successful without her Personal Trainer’s help and patience!
Setting small goals throughout her weight loss also helped her stay motivated and focused. She kept Christmas in mind when she first started, then it was a weekend away in February – keeping these things in mind kept me stay on track.
Since losing weight her health has really improved. Her blood pressure has dropped from an unhealthily high level to now be in the normal range, without the need of medication. She feels generally so much healthier and has tons more energy.
Her confidence has soared since I’ve reached my Goal Weight. Sara said: "I feel so much happier in myself and enjoy going out and socialising again. Lots of people who I haven’t seen since last year have said they don’t actually recognise me and everyone has been really supportive. I love going shopping for my new figure and have cost my husband a small fortune with all my new clothes – but luckily he thinks I’m worth it!"
