Chef killed over meal dispute is in ICU of local hospital. 57-year-old died on Monday as a result of his injuries in the intensive care unit of a local hospital, said Ulrike Stahlmann-Liebelt, the senior public prosecutor from the nearby town of Flensburg. Japanese chef Miki Nozawa was killed by two guests over a dish of fried noodles.
The two suspects, aged 36 and 50, reportedly were angry over a dish of fried noddles with vegetables and beef, and asked for their money back. German news site welt.de reported that they were intoxicated, citing a police official. The official said the investigation is ongoing.
The incident happened on the German island of Sylt, which hosts many vacationers.
It is unclear how the chef was hurt by the two people, but Nozawa later died at a hospital from “severe brain injuries and internal bleeding,” according to his ex-wife. The two people subsequently disappeared.
Nozawa has worked out of Sylt since April, according to German news site shz.de
