Wayne Rooney prostitute Jenny Thompson apologises to footballer's wife Coleen

It's been two and a half years since Coleen and Wayne Rooney's marriage was rocked by reports of his infidelity with prostitute Jenny Thompson.

And while the couple have since moved past the revelations and are now expecting their second child together, former escort girl Jenny has spoken of her regrets for hurting the WAG.

After becoming a mother to baby Izabella earlier this month, the 23-year-old has turned her life around and has quit prostitution.

She told The Sun: 'I feel a horrible guilt at what I did to Coleen.

'At the time I justified it to myself as just a job, but I feel horribly responsible for tearing a family apart like that.'

It was revealed in September 2010 that Jenny had slept with Wayne seven times over a period of months while his wife Coleen with pregnant with son Kai - who was born in November 2009.

When the revelations were first published, Jenny told how she used to meet the English footballer for sex sessions in the five star Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

She said she earned £1,200 each time for the two-hour appointments, and also enjoyed a threesome with fellow escort girl Helen Wood.

Jenny has re-evaluted her past after becoming a mother herself and feels terrible for the pain she put her parents through after they discovered her secret life.

She lamented: 'I made mistakes which I deeply regret, but now I want to set my daughter a good example and focus on being the best mum I possibly can.'

Jenny discovered she was pregnant with daughter Izabella in August 2012, but is yet to announce who the father is.

Last year, she also revealed she had enjoyed a six week fling with Mario Balotelli in early 2012 - while he was still dating Italian model Raffaella Fico.

After their relationship was made public, Raffaella and Mario ended their one-year relationship, with the model later announcing her pregnancy in July.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Jenny announced she was quitting Twitter.

She wrote on January 28: 'Coming off twitter it's about time, to content and happy with my little girl to read nasty things that try and ruin my happiness . Goodbye x.'
