Caged puppy is doing 'remarkably well' after being set on fire in Ohio park as investigators offer a $5000 reward for any information leading to a conviction
A small puppy is doing 'remarkably well' after Ohio firefighters discovered that someone had set her on fire inside a cage.
Firefighters from the Columbus Fire Department were called to Walnut Hill Park on Sunday and found a small area of melted plastic on fire underneath a tree in the park.
It was then that they saw the dog - now named Korra - running in the area, with black plastic melted on her back.

Firefighters quickly determined that small Korra had been inside the cage, transporting her to the Diley Hill Animal Medical Center.
Korra was treated for her burns at the hospital and adopted by staff there, the Columbus Fire Department shared in a Facebook post. The fire department shared that she is doing remarkably well, given the circumstances.
'As fire investigators, this is heart-wrenching and sickening for us. We see a lot of bad things on a daily basis, but this has cut a lot of our people to the core,' Investigator Mike DeFrancisco said to WTOL.

Korra is named after the titular character of The Legend of Korra, who was known for her bravery and strength, especially in moments when the cards were stacked against her.
'She just seems to be taking things in stride and enjoying the love,' DeFrancisco said.
Fire investigators are working with the Columbus Humane Society in hopes of identifying the person who is responsible for injuring the puppy. A $5000 reward has been offered.
The potential suspect could be met with animal cruelty charges.
