What social distancing? Philadelphia Eagles fans start a brawl during their first game back in the stands

Philadelphia Eagles fans were filmed brawling on Sunday – the first day spectators were allowed back in the stands since the coronavirus pandemic closed stadiums due to social distancing measures.

Last Tuesday the team announced a maximum of 7,500 people (15%) would be able to be at the Lincoln Financial Field at one time. Of those, 5,000 can be fans.

Footage showed that COVID-19 rules didn't stop some fans from coming to blows during the game where they lost against the Baltimore Ravens.

'1st game back in the stands for Philly scumbags and they are already fighting,' Barstool Sports tweeted. 'Nature is healing.'

The clip shows a sparsely-populated outdoor venue before one NFL fan climbs over chairs to reach someone below.

Someone is seen trying to hold back the instigator of the fight but before long others are joining in the attack.

The video appears to show a Ravens supporter being pounced on by four Eagles fans as a woman tries to shield the outnumbered brawler.

It's unclear what prompted the violence before the footage began.

It was a tense first game back for fans and the Eagles lost 30-28 after drops, a turnover and the missed field goal.

The Eagles (1-4-1) came in missing seven offensive starters, including four offensive linemen, and then lost two more when running back Miles Sanders left in the third quarter and tight end Zach Ertz exited in the fourth.

On the game's opening drive, the Eagles missed an opportunity when John Hightower dropped a perfect deep pass that hit his hands in stride on third-and-23.

With 1:55 remaining in the game, L.J. Fort and Matthew Judon tackled Carson Wentz on a 2-point conversion attempt and the Ravens held on for a victory over Philadelphia.

Lamar Jackson threw a touchdown pass, ran for 108 yards and one score and sent the Ravens (5-1) to their third straight win.

The Ravens have forced a turnover in 19 straight games, the longest active streak in the NFL and second-longest in franchise history. Baltimore has 33 takeaways during the 19-game stretch.

'It´s a win that we´re very, very happy to have,' Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. 'I'm proud of our guys for winning the fight at the end. We're not going to be happy with certain things. We have to execute better on both sides. We can´t give up big plays. We've got to get them stopped.'
