'So grateful to have a dad like you in my life': Dani Dyer makes poignant birthday message to father Danny after her now ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence is jailed for three years

Dani Dyer paid a poignant tribute to her father Danny on his 44th birthday on Satruday, days after her now ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence was jailed for three years. 

Sammy, 25, was sent to prison for 42 months for scamming two pensioners out of £34k last weeks, prompting Dani to end their relationship six months after welcoming their son Santiago.  

The Love Island star, 24, shared a sweet black and white snap of her cuddled up to her dad and she gushed she was 'So grateful to have a dad like you in my life'.

Dani told her EastEnders actor father: 'Happy birthday to such a special person @officialdannydyer so grateful to have a dad like you in my life.. 

'Thank you for all the laughs and being the most amazing grandad to santi. Love you millions xx' 

The Love Island star also shared a funny video of Danny messing around in a striped T-shirt and shades in a recording studio. 

The close father-daughter duo regularly entertain their fans with their joint podcast Sorted with the Dyers.

The birthday celebration comes after Dani returned to social media for the first time on Thursday since her Sammy was jailed. 

The Love Island star took to Instagram to celebrate six months with her son Santiago in a sweet post - she did not allude to Sammy, who she has now split from. 

Dani shared an adorable snap with Santiago calling him 'My absolute pride and joy'.

'You’ve made me realise how precious time is, and what it’s like to not have a lay in anymore.

'Mummy loves you more than words could ever describe,' she signed off the sweet post.

Conman Sammy was convicted to five counts of fraud after he persuaded the vulnerable pensioners to let him invest their money for them and then splashed out on expensive restaurants, hotels, clothes and even a personalised number plate for his Mercedes.

Sammy's victims had been clients of his when he worked as Senior Trader at Equine Global Sports Limited, a company which subsequently went into liquidation. 

The company received money from customers which it would use to place bets on horse races, on their behalf.

After this company ceased trading, Sammy contacted two of his elderly former clients and pretended he would continue investing their money in the same way, but instead used it to fund his lavish lifestyle, leaving one victim 'living on the breadline'.

Prosecutors said Sammy 'groomed' his elderly victims, likening his fraud to 'a fox getting a key to the chicken pen' and said one pensioner had considered the conman 'a friend right up until he died.'

Dani and Sammy welcomed their first child in January with the new mum gushing that they were 'in a complete bubble and enjoying every moment.   

Now Sammy will be absent from both Dani and baby Santiago's lives as he serves time for his deceit.

Dani's father Danny is said to be relieved his daughter has split from the con artist. 

The EastEnders actor and the rest of Dani's family have said they 'think it's for the best' and have told her 'she will never be alone as a single mum', according to Ok!. 

A source told the publication: 'Dani's dad Danny and her whole family are relieved she's walked away.

'They think this is for the best. They've told her she'll never be alone as a single mum as they'll always help her to raise Santiago.'

The source added: 'Dani knew Sammy's crime was bad but everyone thinks she just buried her head in the sand about it and didn't face up to the enormity of his crimes until he was sentenced.' 

Meanwhile, a source revealed to the MailOnline that the heartbroken reality star is working on life as a single parent.

They said: 'She is absolutely floored by what's happened with Sammy. She knows she has to make massive changes in her life and she's so distraught...

'All she knows is that her baby boy Santiago is the only thing that matters now and she is trying to work out how best to look after him as a single parent.'

The source went on: 'She needs time to think it through. Sammy completely downplayed the court case every step of the way'. 

It has been revealed that she was misled over the severity of the crimes which saw Sammy groom pensioners to fund his lavish lifestyle. 

The source said: 'He led her to believe he hadn't done anything too serious and that he would get a suspended sentence now she knows the full horror of the crime... 

'She is broken. She feels desperately sorry for the two men he scammed and whose lives he ruined.'

Speaking about how she is feeling now, they said: 'She feels utterly stupid for ever believing him and she is totally overwhelmed...' 

'The little dream family she thought she had has been smashed apart and she is now trying to work out how best to pick up the pieces.'
