Joe Rogan tests positive for COVID: $100million Spotify podcast star claims he recovered in three days after taking 'all kinds of meds' including horse dewormer ivermectin

Joe Rogan, the popular podcaster and comedian who has made controversial comments criticizing vaccines and coronavirus lockdown measures, has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Rogan revealed that he was able to recover within three days thanks to several treatments, including the much-talked about anti-parasite drug ivermectin, which is used to treat infections in horses and cows.

Local and federal agencies have discouraged the public from taking ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19 after poison-control centers received calls about some ingesting it and becoming ill, including two people who were hospitalized.

Earlier this week, the Arkansas Poison Center said it had received 24 calls from people who've ingested ivermectin so far this year, having previously received just six such calls in total between 2016 and 2020.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved its use for humans, but for parasitical infections and skin diseases - and not as a COVID treatment.

Ivermectin has not been approved to treat COVID-19, yet gained attention on social media after Republican lawmakers in Arkansas urged its use for that purpose.

The Centers for Disease Control has warned Americans it is dangerous to take ivermectin as a COVID treatment, although it continues to fly off the shelves

Large doses of this drug, however, can cause serious harm to humans if ingested.

Rogan has drawn the ire of liberals for his criticism of mask mandates and vaccine passports. In April, he encouraged those who were young and healthy not to take the COVID-19 vaccine, though he later denied that he was an 'anti-vaxxer.'

He also revealed that he had scheduled an appointment to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, but he had then put it off after the CDC paused administering the shot due to reports of blood clots.

Last month, the ex-Fear Factor host blasted vaccine passports saying that requiring Americans to show proof of vaccination in order to gain entry into restaurants, airplanes, bars, and sporting events moves the country ‘one step closer’ to dictatorship.

Rogan on Wednesday offered a ‘wonderful, heartfelt thank you to modern medicine for pulling me out of this so quickly and easily.’

Rogan made the announcement to more than 13 million followers on Instagram on Wednesday.

‘I got back from the road Saturday night feeling very weary,’ Rogan tells his followers on Instagram in a video posted on Wednesday.

‘I had a headache, and I just felt run down.’

Rogan said that out of an abundance of caution, he ‘separated’ himself from his family and ‘slept in a different part of the house.’

‘Throughout the night I got fevers and sweats...I knew what was going on,’ said Rogan, who is also a commentator for UFC mixed martial arts bouts.

‘I got up in the morning, got tested, and it turns out I got COVID,’ Rogan said.

Rogan said that his treatment involved ‘throwing the kitchen sink’ at the illness.

He said that he took ‘all kinds of meds monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, z-pak (also known as azithromycin), prednisone, everything…’

Aside from his wildly popular podcast, Rogan is also a standup comedian as well as a ringside color commentator for UFC mixed martial arts events. Rogan is seen left interviewing Conor McGregor after his TKO loss against Dustin Poirier in their welterweight fight in Las Vegas on July 10

Rogan said that he was also administered an NAD and vitamin drip for three days in a row.

He said that three days of treatment left him feeling ‘great.’

‘I really only had one bad day,’ he said. ‘Sunday sucked.’

He added: ‘But Monday was better. Tuesday felt better than Monday. And today I feel good.’

‘I actually feel pretty f*****g good.’

Rogan said that because of his diagnosis he was forced to reschedule a stand-up gig set to take place in Nashville this Friday.

That show will instead be moved to October 24.

Rogan is the host of the wildly popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, which has amassed an audience of millions. It is the most popular podcast streamed on Spotify, though the service doesn't release the exact figures of audience size.

Last year, Rogan signed an exclusive deal to license the podcast on Spotify.

Before that, the podcast, which is a series of hours-long interviews with newsmakers and public figures from the world of comedy, politics, sports, and other areas, was available for viewing on YouTube.

In 2019, Rogan's podcast generated some 200 million monthly downloads, making him one of the biggest online personalities in the world.

Rogan's deal with Spotify was met with outrage from some employees of the streaming giant who are particularly unhappy with the podcast's willingness to host conspiracy theorists, including Alex Jones of Infowars and others.

Liberals are unhappy with Rogan's frequent criticism of political correctness, cancel culture, and 'wokeness'. Rogan has also been accused of making transphobic comments.

He has hosted authors and commentators who have been critical of policies advocated by LGBTQ activists, including allowing transgender females to compete with cis gender women in high school and collegiate athletics.

Earlier this month, Rogan questioned Dr. Anthony Fauci's credibility, saying he has been '100 percent wrong' and blamed his shifting guidance for the mistrust in the COVID vaccine.

The podcast host and his guest, artificial intelligence researcher Lex Fridman, said Fauci has lost public trust after not being transparent about so called 'gain-of-function' research at the Wuhan Institute.

Gain of Function Research is a controversial practice that involves altering a virus or pathogen in order to study the development of new diseases and their transmission. The research can ultimately make the virus more contagious or more deadly in a lab.

According to an NIH definition, GOF includes studying and altering viruses in animals to make them transmissible to humans – and potentially more contagious and deadly.

Rogan said the media has ignored 'all the things (Fauci's) done to lead people to distrust him,' specifically his handing of the National Institutes of Health grant to EcoHealth Alliance.

The organization has been in the spotlight because of their collaborations with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is where some people theorize the coronavirus originated and escaped from.

Fridman also put the blame on Fauci and 'shady greedy a**holes' for public mistrust of science and Rogan attacked Fauci for his shifting guidance against COVID, while dismissing Fauci's prior claims that scientists must react to the evolving virus in real time.
