Kardashian baby name

Kardashian baby name, being both of their names begin with the letter 'K' (not to mention nearly every other member of the Kardashian clan) we were fully expecting Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to keep up the tradition when their bundle of joy arrives this July. There are still plenty to go round after all... Kai, Kaden, Kaci, Kane, Kaitlyn, Karen... But Kanye it seems, has other ideas. According to The Sun, the rapper is rather fond of (wait for it)... North. Or to give the child its full moniker: North West. Now there's a rapper in the making if ever we heard one. Apparently, Kanye thinks it sounds good with his surname. Well, this is the man who is considering calling his next album, 'I Am God' Oh dear. Meanwhile, 32-year-old Kim is said to be planning to have a tummy tuck after giving birth to regain her pre-pregnancy figure. Her aunt, Joan Kardashian told Canada's Now magazine that her niece is struggling to come to terms with her baby weight. "[Kim]

Harry Reems dies, 'Deep Throat' actor no more

Harry Reems dies, Harry Reems, the male star of the 1972 cultural phenomenon "Deep Throat," which brought pornography to mainstream audiences, has died at age 65. Reems died Tuesday afternoon at the veterans' hospital in Salt Lake City, his wife, Jeanne Sterrett Reems said Wednesday. Doctors haven't determined his cause of death but Reems had multiple health issues, including pancreatic cancer, his wife said. Reems became famous for his role in the adult-film classic "Deep Throat," which drew middle class audiences to the theater and became a forerunner of today's hardcore adult-entertainment industry. The film later served as the nickname for a source that helped Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein investigate the Watergate scandal that led to President Richard Nixon's resignation. Reems was born in in New York in 1947 as Herbert Streicher. He served in the U.S. Marines before he ended up in the entertainment industry in the 1

Harry Reems dies

Harry Reems dies, Harry the Person who starred with Linda Lovelace in the 1972 pornographic film "Deep Throat" and became a cause celebre in Hollywood after he was convicted on federal obscenity charges related to the movie, has died. He was 65. Reems, who had pancreatic cancer and other ailments, died Tuesday at a Salt Lake City veterans hospital. His death was confirmed by the Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City Healthcare System. He arrived on the Miami set of "Deep Throat" as the lighting director but when the man hired to portray the doctor in the film failed to show up, director Gerard Damiano said: "Put on this coat; you're acting," Reems told The Times in 2005. At first he enjoyed the celebrity that accompanied starring in one of the most successful pornographic films of all time. "You could call me the Shirley Temple" of adult films, Reems told an interviewer when "Deep Throat" was released. "Take an X film and make it an

$860M overcharges

$860M overcharges, The award that has been years in the making was handed down in Cleveland this week. Ohio employers who dealt with an alleged $860 million in overcharges from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation are happy with the ruling from a judge. WKYC reported the details on March 20. The case ties to the allegations that the BWC overcharged employers for nearly a decade when it came to Ohio's insurance fund for injured workers. Approximately 270,000 small-business owners were said to have been affected and it seems many don't even know they're impacted by the class action. The lead plaintiff, Earl Stein, claims that the BWC never denied the $860 million in overcharges, though there has been debate about the exact amount involved. Stein says that with the judgment, many Ohio jobs can be created as the money flows back to the businesses. Before the judgement, experts for the Bureau estimated that the overcharges were more in the neighborhood of $400 million.

Gaza militants fire at Israel during Obama visit

Palestinian militants fired two rockets into southern Israel from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip early Thursday morning, the second day of President Obama's three-day visit to Israel and the West Bank. The rockets, which were fired before Obama left Jerusalem for meetings with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who heads the Palestinian Authority, the internationally recognized Palestinian government in the West Bank, exploded in the city of Sderot, a town close to the Gaza-Israel border. OBAMA VISITS RAMALLAH: Palestinians want Obama to pressure Israel One of the rockets hit the backyard of a private home, causing damage but no injuries, said Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. The other landed in an open field. There were reports that two other rockets landed in Gaza. As a presidential candidate in 2008, Obama visited the border town of Sderot, which is frequently targeted by rocket attacks fired from the Gaza Strip. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack

Teen Mom star DUI

Teen Mom star DUI, Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is the lastest pseudo-celebrity to get busted for DUI. TMZ has reported that the 21-year-old was pulled over by police while driving in Omaha, Neb., just after 1 a.m on March 19. The MTV reality star reportedly made a wide turn and nearly hit a police car. Sources told the website that when the police administered a sobriety test, Abraham blew a 0.147 on a breathalyzer, which is nearly twice the legal 0.08 limit. The site reports that Abraham's 4-year-old daughter Sophia was not in the car at the time of her arrest. Despite multiple reports that Abraham was arrested, and confirmation from police officials, the reality star still seems to be denying the story on Twitter. On Wednesday, she wrote, "It's Amazing what people believe & makeup (LOVE MY LIFE) #Thank #God #I'mSuccessful & I don't care about drama! #HaveAGreatDay" Abrahams is no stranger to drama or controversy, but she was free of leg

Hanley Ramirez injures thumb

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez suffered a thumb injury Tuesday while playing for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic championship game. Ramirez was fitted with a splint as a precautionary measure, the MLB Network reported during the telecast of the Dominican Republic's victory over Puerto Rico. The three-time All-Star will be evaluated by Dodgers team doctors on Wednesday. It is unclear how Ramirez, who played third base during the tournament, suffered the injury. He made a diving attempt at a grounder in the third inning but did not leave the contest until the sixth. Ramirez is set to enter his first full season with the Dodgers, who acquired the former NL batting champion in a blockbuster trade last year with the Miami Marlins.

Flurry of offseason departures not new to Ravens

Ed Reed intercepts a pass intended for Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson during the second half of the 2011 playoffs. The way things are going, you have to wonder if the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens' season opener is going to be a celebration or a wake. The offseason decimation of the Ravens apparently kept going Wednesday when free-agent safety Ed Reed, a guy who has Hall of Fame practically written on his résumé, reportedly agreed to join the Texans. Like Ray Lewis, who has retired, Reed wasn't just some extra playing a part. He was a core player for a team that has gone to the playoffs five straight seasons. But as Baltimore owner Steve Bisciotti, top executives Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta and coach John Harbaugh strolled the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore resort in Phoenix this week, dire concern didn't seem to be an issue. Yeah, Lewis and Reed are gone. So too are center Matt Birk (retired), wide receiver Anquan Boldin (traded), linebackers Paul

Lil Waynes Face Dropped When He Heard Last Rites Reports

Lil Wayne had a pretty tough week. As if his hospital stay wasn't stressful enough, Weezy also had to deal with reports that he was being prepared for his last rites — reports his camp strongly denies. As you can imagine, Wayne wasn't too happy. "I was actually sitting right next to him, honestly, when it happened, and his mom was in the other room, and his face dropped," Young Money president Mack Maine told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway when he appeared on Wednesday's (March 20) "RapFix Live." "I just saw it in his face, like, 'I can't believe that.' " Mack Maine Was 'Right Next' To Wayne During His Health Scare After suffering from a seizure March 12, Lil Wayne was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, where he remained for six days. The star rapper was sent home Monday as conflicting reports about his health swirled. Through it all, Mack Maine, Birdman and the rest of Weezy's YMCMB family messaged th

Bobby Brown FREED In Record Speed

Bobby Brown It's a testament to how incredibly screwed up our justice system is ... Bobby Brown -- who was sentenced to 55 days in jail for his 3rd DUI -- just served a grand total of 9 HOURS in jail. Brown checked into L.A. County Jail at 9:58 AM Wednesday. He was released at 6:58 PM. Interesting ... an L.A. County Sheriff's spokesperson said just days ago Brown would serve 9 days ... but the jails are bursting at the seams and this is what happens ... kind of a joke, don't you think? Brown was arrested in October after driving erratically on an L.A. street. He pled no contest to DUI and driving on a suspended license. It was his second DUI arrest in 7 months. Bobby is on 4 years probation and has to attend alcohol ed classes for 18 months.

Apple is accused in lawsuit of infringing on Intertrust patents

Intertrust Technologies Corp.'s lawsuit against Apple alleges that the iPhone, iPad and other Apple devices violated Intertrust's patents. Above, an Apple store in Beijing on March 12. (Tomohiro Ohsumi / Bloomberg / March 12, 2013) Apple is famous (or notorious, depending on your point of view) for going it alone on some technologies rather than joining the rest of the tech crowd. For example, its iTunes store sold downloadable songs for years in a copy-protected format that only Apple's devices could play, and even today it eschews the de facto industry standard for downloadable tracks (MP3) in favor of a far more obscure one (AAC). And although its Apple TV devices can stream video from several sites, they can download them only from iTunes. One way the company has enforced such exclusivity is through the proprietary technology it uses to guard against piracy. On Wednesday, however, privately held Intertrust Technologies Corp. of Sunnyvale, Calif., sued Apple, ac

U.S. Department Of Defense Reportedly Planning To Buy 650,000 iOS Devices After Nixing BB10 To Cut Costs

The U.S. Department of Defense will order 650,000 iOS devices to replace older BlackBerry devices that are incompatible with the new BlackBerry 10 operating system after the sequester is over, reports Electronista. The DOD will order 120,000 iPads, 100,000 iPad minis, 200,000 iPod touches, and 210,000 various iPhones models. Electronista has been told that “more than half are headed to the battlefield, afloat, and to associated support commands. Most of the rest will stay [at the Pentagon].” There are currently 470,000 BlackBerry devices in daily use by the DoD, none of which operate on BB10 because funds originally earmarked for the new OS have been eliminated by the sequester. The DoD estimates that there will be 8 million smartphones in service over the next three years, and most devices used to handle classified data have been subjected to pricey modifications that increase their final cost up to four times. BlackBerry devices using the previous OS were also expected to be inc

Canon EOS Rebel SL1

(Credit: Josh Goldman/CNET) About 6.5 years ago, Olympus announced the E-Volt E-410, which at that point became the smallest dSLR ever. In the years since, I don't remember anybody attempting to match it for size. But given that it used a Four Thirds-size sensor -- smaller than the traditional APS-C size sensor that's used by consumer dSLRs -- that was pretty unsurprising. Now Canon's rolling out its EOS Rebel SL1, which manages to outdo the E-410 for lightness and compactness, at least in two dimensions (the E-410 was thinner), becoming the smallest dSLR available. Canon EOS Rebel SL1 photos Essentially a shrunken version of the T5i -- the "SL" stands for "super lightweight" -- there are a few notable differences between the SL1 and its big brother. For one, it incorporates an updated version of the company's hybrid CMOS, which Canon claims offers a larger area dedicated to the contrast AF system for better autofocus outside the

China manufacturing rises but first-quarter momentum seen muted

Growth in China's vast manufacturing sector picked up in March after a holiday dip, a preliminary survey of factory managers showed on Thursday, pointing towards solid but not spectacular first-quarter growth in the world's second-largest economy. The HSBC Purchasing Managers' Index for March revived to 51.7 in March from 50.4 in February, but remained below a two-year high of 52.3 reached at the beginning of the year. The pullback in February had raised concerns in financial markets that China's recovery was losing steam. Indeed, official data earlier in March suggested the economy had started 2013 with only tepid growth after a burst in the fourth quarter. Economists' opinions were mixed on how much recovery momentum would be carried into the second quarter, with some pointing to weak commodity demand while others took comfort in the stronger March showing. "Current readings around the 50 points level seem to us to be consistent with GDP growth close to 8 pe

Despite local unit's success, FedEx suffers decline

FedEx's Moon-based Ground unit is pulling the rest of the company out of the drink. But even with Ground's revenue up by $270 million, or 11 percent from the third quarter of last year, there is only so much that portion of the business can do for the rest. FedEx's third quarter revenues, reported Wednesday, were down so severely that even the Wall Street analysts who watch the Memphis, Tenn.-based company for a living didn't foresee the decline. The company reported earnings of $1.13 per share, or 32 percent below last year's third quarter earnings of $1.65. Excluding one-time items, earnings came in a $1.23 per share. A Thompson-Reuters poll of analysts had expected, on average, earnings per share of $1.38, with the lowest prediction at $1.30. Net income in the third quarter was $361 million, down by 31 percent from $521 million in the same quarter last year, even as total revenues rose by 4 percent from $10.56 billion to $10.95 billion. In other words, the compa

Hundreds of Lufthansa flights cancelled due to strike

Lufthansa has had to cancel almost 700 flights as workers went on strike early on Thursday to put pressure on the German airline ahead of a new round of wage talks on Friday. The strike, announced by labour union Verdi on Wednesday, is expected to last until 1000 am local time (0900 GMT) but will wipe out domestic and European flights by Lufthansa into the afternoon. "We see this strike as disproportionate at this time. Talks are scheduled for tomorrow, and the exchange of demands has only just started," a spokesman for Lufthansa said. A list posted on the airline's website on Wednesday afternoon showed a total of 688 cancelled flights, mostly to German and European destinations. Lufthansa said it aimed to get most intercontinental flights off the ground despite the strike. In negotiations that started last month, German union Verdi is demanding a 5.2 percent increase in wages for 12 months for 33,000 employees at Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Systems, ca

Costly Bank Payday Loans Criticized in Report

Some of the nation’s largest banks continue to offer payday loans, pitched as advances on direct-deposit paychecks, despite growing regulatory scrutiny and mounting criticism about the short-term, high-cost loans. The findings, outlined in a report by the Center for Responsible Lending to be released on Thursday, provide the latest glimpse into the methods that banks are aggressively using to earn new revenue. According to bank analysts, banks are looking to recoup the billions in lost income from a spate of regulations restricting fees on debit and credit cards. Across the nation, roughly six banks, including Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank, make the loans. The loans can prove expensive, the report shows, typically costing $10 for every $100 borrowed. They are often used by low-income customers, said the center, a nonprofit group that studies consumer lending issues. At first glance, the loans do not seem like a typical payday loan offered by storefront lenders. Instead, banks typically al

Jodi Arias defense attorney works to restore credibility of expert witness in PTSD diagnosis

Jodi Arias’ defense attorney worked Wednesday to undo any damage to the credibility of an expert witness who diagnosed the defendant with post-traumatic stress disorder and amnesia after a withering cross-examination that called into question his techniques and testing procedures. Psychologist Richard Samuels resumed testimony for a fourth day Wednesday after telling jurors he diagnosed Arias with PTSD and dissociative amnesia, which explains why she can’t remember much from the day she killed her lover. Samuels said he met with Arias a dozen times for more than 30 hours over three years while she was jailed. Prosecutor Juan Martinez previously seized on multiple lies Arias told Samuels throughout the process of his evaluation, at one point getting the psychologist to acknowledge that he should have re-administered at least one test he used to come to his PTSD diagnosis. Martinez questioned how Samuels could have come to any definitive conclusion for a diagnosis based upon Arias’ li

Trial venue set for U.S. Army officer accused of Fort Hood massacre

U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan, charged with killing 13 people during a 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, will face a court martial trial at the base, a military judge ruled on Wednesday, rejecting his request to change the venue. Judge Tara Osborn, a U.S. Army colonel, last month set July 1 for the start of the court martial for Hasan, who has been in custody since the shooting rampage that also wounded 32 people. Hasan could face the death penalty if convicted. Selection of a jury, or panel in military law terminology, is scheduled to begin in May. Osborn also rejected Hasan's request to select jurors from the Navy or Air Force instead of the Army. Osborn has been trying to get the trial schedule on track after extensive delays while the military justice system debated whether Hasan, who is Muslim, should be required to shave his beard to comply with military rules. Osborn has put that issue aside. Several procedural issues were also discussed at the hearing on Wednesday f

Pakistan sets date for terror polls

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday announced the next general election will be held on May 11, as the Pakistani Taliban raised tension ahead of the long-anticipated polls by warning people to stay away from political gatherings and public meetings of key mainstream parties during their campaigns. The country's top military brass resolved on Tuesday to continue the fight against terrorism and said that the armed forces would give backing to the Election Commission that will oversee the vote. That expression of support came a day after the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) said it was withdrawing from peace talks. ''It was reiterated in unequivocal terms that comprehensive strategy will be followed by armed forces to combat terrorist threat being faced by the country,'' Dawn reported a military spokesman as saying after a quarterly meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. The principal military advisory body announced its backing for the gener

Google Play Store 4 leak shows alleged new design

Screenshots have surfaced of what is said to be the next iteration of the Google Play Store, which first appeared over at Droid-Life. The current version Android users are running is 3.10.14 at most, but the version demonstrated in the image after the jump is said to be of 4.0.16. While its not official, there are a few indicators that it could be the real thing. The leak received by Droid Life isn’t a full functioning service, and from what is seen it is not ready for consumers. These things indicate that it could be real, although a Play Store leak isn’t exactly common, making it hard to decide what to think of the matter. If it is real, however, the prospect is exciting, as the user interface shows a complete overhaul. Colors, fonts – everything is different, offering simplicity and a clean design. Headers are larger, icons are larger, the content is front-and-center, and as Android Community notes, the apps are presented in a manner similar to Google Now cards in the “My Apps” s

Colorado prison chief shot dead on eve of gun laws signing

The head of Colorado's prison system was shot to death as he answered the doorbell at his home in what police said may have been a targeted slaying linked to his high-profile position. The shooting on Tuesday night punctuated an intense debate on gun control in Colorado, coming just hours before the state's Democratic governor signed into law new firearms-control measures spurred by a rash of deadly mass shootings in the state and elsewhere. Police said Tom Clements, 58, appointed two years ago as executive director of the Colorado Department of Corrections, was shot at his home in a secluded wooded area near the town of Monument, 45 miles south of Denver. The killing did not appear to be linked to any break-in or robbery attempt, and did not appear to be a random act of violence, said El Paso County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant Jeff Kramer. "We are sensitive to the high-profile position in which Mr. Clements served and the fact there could be people who would targ

Cyprus and Russia Discuss Banking, Gas Deals

Cyprus and Russia resumed talks Thursday to strike a deal that could include cooperation on banking and natural gas reserves, the Cypriot finance minister told Reuters agency. Finance Minister Michael Sarris said that natural gas reserves from offshore fields surrounding Cyprus that have yet to be developed could be offered as part of the agreement. Any deal with Moscow should be in Russia's best interests too, he said. Sarris extended a stay in Moscow, where Russian officials said he asked for a further 5 billion euros on top of a five-year extension and lower interest on an existing 2.5-billion euro loan from Moscow. Meanwhile back in Cyprus, talks among the political leadership in Nicosia are set to resume on Thursday after late-night meetings to discuss a "Plan B" broke up on Wednesday without result. Cyprus considered nationalizing pension funds and ordered banks to stay shut till next week to avert financial chaos after it rejected the terms of a European U

Gillard remains Australian prime minister after rival declined to challenge her leadership

Australia’s deeply unpopular government further damaged its public image Thursday with a bizarre internal power struggle in which the prime minister was forced to open her job to challengers only to find that no one from her party was willing to run against her. The unprecedented spectacle of a leadership ballot without a challenger adds to the perception of dysfunction and turmoil that taints Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s party and is likely to harm its already dismal chance of holding onto power at national elections in September. Kevin Rudd, the prime minister whom Gillard ousted in an internal party coup in 2010, had been expected to attempt to replace her. For weeks, his backers had been frenetically recruiting Gillard loyalists who are becoming increasing spooked by the center-left Labor Party’s dismal performance in opinion polls this year. But Rudd made a surprising 11th-hour announcement that he would not attempt to return to the premiership by running for the party’s top jo

S Korean hacking attack traced to China

A hacking attack that paralysed the computer systems of South Korean broadcasters and banks on Wednesday originated from a Chinese internet address, fuelling suspicion that North Korea may be behind the shutdowns of 32,000 computers. The Korea Communications Commission, which oversees telecoms and broadcasting, said on Thursday that a management server of Nonghyup Bank, one of the three affected institutions, was accessed by a Chinese IP address that generated malignant files. It added that the attacks into six infected institutions all came from a single entity and it was trying to track down the perpetrators. “There can be many inferences based on the fact that the IP address is based in China,” Park Jae-moon, the KCC’s head of network policy, told a briefing. “We’ve left open all possibilities and are trying to identify the hackers.” Experts believe many North Korean hackers operate from China, launching cyber attacks on South Korean organisations. Suspicion of North Korean involve

Octomom fraud

Octomom fraud. Octomom is being under investigation for welfare fraud, apparently someone turned her in, which started this investigation. According to TMZ on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, if this is true, Octomom could go to jail. Someone lodged a complaint with the L.A. County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention that Octomom, Nadya Suleman, made close to $200,000 last year, but still collected welfare, as well as food stamps. Is this woman really that oblivious to the laws to do such a thing? She talked about being on welfare to the media, so if she was making money at the same time she cooked her own goose. If Octomom, who has 14 kids, makes $119,000 a year or less, she's legally entitled to welfare, but it sounds like she exceeded the limit by almost double. She scored all that money from her porn movie, where she self-pleasured herself on video. She also took a couple of stripping gigs. If Octomom did collect welfare when she was not entitled to it due to her income level, sh

Seth MacFarlane splits, Game of love is over

Seth MacFarlane says he will not host the Oscars again "They are no longer dating," a source tells E! News. "It was really a location challenge. Dennis Rodman secret, Kim Jong Has A Daughter

Dennis Rodman secret, Kim Jong Un Has A Daughter? It was may be time to add Kim Jong Un's name to the list of folks who aren't eager to trust Dennis Rodman. In a Tuesday interview with The Sun, the retired American basketball star claimed Kim has a daughter. If the statement is true, Rodman may have outed a major state secret. “[Ri Sol Ju] kept talking about their beautiful baby daughter,” Rodman told The Sun of Kim's wife. There has been previous speculation that the couple had a baby girl, but Pyongyang has yet to officially acknowledge any potential heirs to Kim Jong Un's regime. Indeed, North Korea Leadership Watch editor Michael Madden told the Washington Free Beacon that the North Korean government "would have made an announcement” if the child was a boy. Rodman added, per The Sun, that Ri Sol Ju seemed "very elegant and quite tall for a Korean — maybe 5ft 5in." A recent United Nations report found that more than a quarter of North Korean children
