Hurricane Delta barrels toward Louisiana with 100mph winds and a life-threatening 11-foot storm surge as one million residents brace for another hit

Louisiana residents still reeling from the destruction wrought by a powerful hurricane less than two months ago are now under threat yet again as Hurricane Delta steams north through the Gulf after striking Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Delta is expected to blow ashore as a Category 2 hurricane on Friday, bringing winds of up to 100mph and a storm surge of up to 11 feet, forecasters warned. They placed most of Louisiana within Delta's path, including the southwest area of the state around Lake Charles, where Category 4 Hurricane Laura ripped houses from their foundations, peeled off roofs and tore trailers in half on August 27. Nearly six weeks later, 5,600 people remain in New Orleans hotels because their homes are too damaged to occupy. Trees, roofs and other debris left in Laura's wake still sit by roadsides waiting for pickup even as forecasters warned that Delta could be a larger than average storm. As of 11am EST Thursday, Delta was centered about 400 miles south of Ca

'But it also includes the people who provide care to those people. Our wonderful aged care workers, our healthcare workers working right across the sectors in

The CEO of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, the company that has seen its shares rise after Donald Trump was treated with its experimental antibody drug treatment, is a New York billionaire who is a member of one of the president's golf clubs.   Shares of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals were up 2 percent on Thursday after Trump credited the company's experimental antibody drug treatment with aiding his COVID-19 recovery.  Stocks in the biotech company, which is based in Tarrytown just outside New York City, have been rising since it was first revealed last week that Trump was being treated with the REGN-COV2 drug in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.  Trump, who used to have shares in the biotech company but disposed of them between January and June 2017 for between $10,000 and $100,000, has repeatedly credited Regeneron and the drug treatment with helping his recovery.  Regeneron's CEO Leonard Schleifer is a member of the Trump National golf club in Briarcliff Manor, New

Pence's pink eye is a 'burst blood vessel' NOT COVID, official claims, amid speculation Vice President would be next in Trump's orbit to test positive after appearing at debate with a bloodshot eye

Mike Pence's pink eye is a 'burst blood vessel' and not a sign he has coronavirus, a senior administration official has claimed, after the Vice President appeared at Wednesday night's first vice presidential debate with a bloodshot eye. Speculation has been mounting that Pence would be the next in Donald Trump's orbit to test positive for the virus after viewers spotted his left eye looked suspiciously red as he exchanged blows with Kamala Harris in Salt Lake City.    Pink eye, or conjunctivitis, is a symptom of coronavirus with many health experts warning redness of the eyes is a key indicator of an individual being infected with the deadly virus.   With COVID-19 cases currently sweeping through the top ranks of the White House, social media users quickly went into overdrive. People, including former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt and former news anchor Katie Couric, questioned whether the vice president has also been struck down with the virus and pointed t
