A woman will appear in court after a female police officer suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a car in Grays. Abiola Akilla, 45, of Grays, Essex, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She was also charged with failing to stop after an accident, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. Essex Police say the incident took place in Grays, Essex , after a driver failed to stop  Akilla is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on Monday November 2 and has been remanded in custody.
