'When have Mercedes ever put the wrong tyres on?': Furious fans claim Lewis Hamilton's team INTENTIONALLY sabotaged stand-in driver George Russell's race - as others say rookie's dream drive shows car is reason for F1 champ's success

Motorsport fans have accused F1 giants Mercedes of deliberately sabotaging Lewis Hamilton's stand-in driver's race - after he was twice robbed of a fairytale debut win. George Russell, 22, took the seat of seven-times world champion Hamilton, 35, for yesterday's Sakhir Grand Prix after he tested positive for Covid-19. But he was left devastated after his multi-million-pound car was hit by two tyre issues, most unusually from his own pit stop team. He still managed to finish ninth, fueling talk that the car is the reason for the team's extraordinary success.  Sir Jackie Stewart said in October ‘The car and engine are now so superior that it’s almost unfair on the rest of the field'. Russell, from King's Lynn, Norfolk, had been in the lead when he went in on lap 63 under the safety car. His team put mixed tyres on his car, with one belonging to his teammate Valtteri Bottas, forcing the young driver to come in again to get it changed, forcing him back to fifth plac

Vladimir Putin's daughter's wedding photos are leaked as report claims his son-in-law 'bought $380million stake in Russian petrochemical firm for $100 after marrying'

Vladimir Putin's daughter's wedding photos have been leaked as a report claims his son-in-law bought a $380million stake in a Russian petrochemical firm for $100 after marrying her.  Kirill Shamalov, 38, bought the stake in petrochemicals giant Sibur at a massively reduced rate months after marrying Putin's younger daughter Katerina Tikhonova, 34, according to the investigation by iStories.  Putin's private life is so secretive that the Kremlin has never even confirmed the identities of his daughters, although the US government has named Shamalov as Putin's son-in-law and a member of the country's 'billionaire elite'.  The photographs from Shamalov and Katerina's three-day nuptials at the Igora ski resort in Russia in 2013 break Putin's taboo over never revealing details of his family life. Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny branded the deal a '$380 million wedding gift', intimating high level corruption.  Responding to the latest reports, the

UK could suffer a 'severe' third wave of Covid in January if we 'take our foot off the pedal', SAGE scientist warns

Coronavirus infections could surge in January if we 'take our foot off the pedal' over December and the five-day festive break, one of the Government's scientific advisers has warned.  Professor Andrew Hayward, an epidemiologist at University College London and member of SAGE, today called on Britons to stick to the rules to avoid a 'severe peak' and third wave in the new year. He said it would be 'sad' to see a dramatic uptick in infections, given the UK is just weeks away from vaccinating the elderly and care home residents against Covid-19, who are most vulnerable to the virus. The jab - which the NHS will start administering from tomorrow - offers a ray of hope for a loosening of restrictions in the coming months because the most vulnerable will be protected against the disease.  England's national lockdown helped curb Covid. Daily infections have plummeted 40 per cent in the last three weeks - from a high of 25,331 on November 16 to 15,131 on Decem

The president-elect named his team to combat the pandemic as the United States recorded one million new coronavirus cases in just five days: between Tuesday and Saturday, the US saw 1,000,882 COVID-19 cases, according to Johns Hopkins University data.  Biden will replace Robert Redfield, President Donald Trump's pick to head the CDC, with Dr. Rochelle Walensky, a leading expert on virus testing, prevention, and treatment.  Biden also named Jeff Zients as Coordinator of the COVID-19 Response and Counselor to the President.  In the announcement, the Biden transition team emphasized the diversity of the team and their medical expertise. 'This is a team that looks like America and brings together leaders with deep experience in public health, government, and crisis management. They

Hundreds of San Diego teachers 'voluntarily' attend 'white privilege' training where they are told to accept the US is built on stolen land and asked to commit to becoming 'anti-racist'

Hundreds of teachers in San Diego have attended a 'white privilege' training in which they were asked to commit to becoming 'antiracist' and acknowledge that they meet on stolen land taken from Indigenous peoples. An article written by journalist Christopher F. Rufo, claimed the training is 'mandatory' for all teachers within the San Diego Unified School District. Initially it was reported that the documents were leaked, but a spokesperson from the San Diego Unified School District told DailyMail.com that the book the session is based on is available on Amazon. 'Following the murder of George Floyd, we provided teachers with voluntary trainings from the Racial Healing Handbook. The contents were not secret,' a spokesperson for the district said.  According to the district, 'the training was not mandatory' and 'hundreds of teachers participated voluntarily'.  As part of the training, the teachers are to discuss how they would feel if they

Boris offers last minute olive branch to EU: PM says plans to override Brexit divorce terms can be DROPPED as he holds crunch call with Ursula von der Leyen in bid to secure trade deal - as Michel Barnier sets Wednesday deadline

What are the sticking points in Brexit talks?  FISHING The UK has insisted that it will take back control of its coastal waters from the end of the transition period. But the EU was demanding its fleets maintain previous levels of access - with Emmanuel Macron under particular pressure from the French fishing industry.    Initially the UK said it wanted to reclaim 80 per cent of the EU quotas from January 1. However, Brussels suggested that only 18 per cent should be restored. The two sides are thought to be close to a 'landing zone' that includes a transition period, perhaps of five or seven years. However, the UK denies there is a settlement yet. LEVEL PLAYING FIELD  The EU has insisted the UK commits to 'level playing field' provisions, guaranteeing that it will not undercut businesses on the continent with lower environmental standards and regulation. State aid has emerged as a particular issue, especially as coronavirus puts swathes of the economy unviable.  But th
