Mother of boy, 4, shot dead while getting his hair braided at home in Chicago during bloody Labor Day weekend which left six dead and at least 60 injured pleads with public to help her find his killer

The Alabama mother of the four-year-old who was shot in a Chicago apartment is pleading for the public for help her find her son's killer after 66 were shot - six of whom died - over Labor Day weekend in the city.  Mychal 'MJ' Moultry Jr, four, was getting his hair braided when two bullets struck the boy in the head following several gunshots that broke the window in a drive-by shooting late Friday.  His mother Angela Gregg was not in the home at the time of the shooting, but his father Moultry Sr and a family friend, who was braiding the little boy's hair.  The unnamed family friend was injured by the shattered glass, but the father, who was near his son during the shooting, was left uninjured.  Moultry Sr reportedly his son in his arms until paramedics arrived, according to community activist Andrew Holmes.   Moultry was transported to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday evening after being removed from life support.  Now, his mother

A US Marine Corps recruit died early Tuesday morning at the training facility on Parris Island in South Carolina after apparently falling from a balcony - the eighth enlistee to die at the facility since 2000. The recruit, who has not been named pending the notification of next of kin, was found unresponsive at 7.30am. The Marine was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Beaufort County Coroner David Ott. The recruit's name will be withheld until 24 hours after the family have been contacted, said Parris Island spokesperson Capt Phillip Kulczewski. Officials only said that the recruit was with the 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, reported News & Observer. The New York City Chief Medical Examiner's Office said Dorothy Morgan, of Hempstead, and a man whose family asked that his name to be with held, were identified through ongoing DNA testing of the 1,108 victims who could not be identified.  'Twenty years ago, we made a promise to the families of World Trade Center victims to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to identify their loved ones, and with these two new identifications, we continue to fulfill that sacred obligation,' said Dr. Barbara A. A Colorado judge has ordered a mental health evaluation for the man accused of killing 10 people at a Boulder supermarket in March, to determine whether he is competent to proceed with the case. Judge Ingrid Seftar Bakke ordered that one or more state psychiatrists or psychologists conduct the evaluation of Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa within three weeks at the Boulder County jail, where Alissa has been detained since the March 22 shooting at a crowded King Soopers supermarket.
