Man rips down his wooden fence and erects a new one made entirely of garage doors – infuriating neighbours who say it's 'ugly' and will send house prices plummeting
A homeowner's decision to erect a new fence made entirely of garage doors has infuriated neighbours who fear the 'hideous' design will slash their property prices.
The Gold Coast man ripped down his wooden picket fence in favour of a tall grey one to encircle his Ormeau property.
But Manatoka Place residents are unhappy with the aesthetic and hold concerns it will send their house prices plummeting.
Some also claim the DIY fence is poorly built and poses safety issues.

Neighbours say the new fence is 'hideous' and could send their property prices plummeting
Neighbour Tom Foster said he and others who live on the street have raised their concerns with the man to no avail.
'It's hideous, there's no other way to describe it,' he told 9News.
'We've tried to talk to him, we've tried to reason with him.'
'We do plan to move in the foreseeable future but what does it do to our house price?'
Mr Foster said he has been calling on the council to have the fence demolished for months.
He added that residents would gladly help the man tear it down and build anew if he was willing to change his stance.
A Gold Coast City Council spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the matter is being investigated.
'The City is aware of a complaint regarding an unsightly fence at Manatoka Place, Ormeau,' the spokesperson said.
'The City’s jurisdiction is limited with respect to the materials used for fencing across the City however there are regulations regarding fence heights and safety.
'The subject fence is under investigation with respect to these matters.'
