Manhunt is underway for pajama-clad father, 37, who shot dead woman so he could kidnap his 14-month-old daughter from Oklahoma property before hijacking pick-up and killing driver
Wanted: Brandon Milburn, 37, is being sought in connection to a deadly crime spree in Oklahoma City on Tuesday afternoon, during which he allegedly kidnapped his baby daughter and killed two people
Police in Oklahoma are on the hunt for an armed man who is believed to have killed two people and abducted his 14-month-old daughter.
Brandon Milburn, 37, is now being sought in connection to two killings, two carjackings, a burglary and the kidnapping of his baby daughter, Zyla Milburn, which took place on Tuesday, sparking an Amber Alert.
The alert was later cancelled after baby Zyla was found unharmed in Love County in southern Oklahoma, but the search for her father continued.
The incident began unfolding just after noon on Tuesday, when police in Oklahoma City received a 911 call about a body that was discovered inside a home in the 5100 block of Brookdale Drive.
Officers who responded to the scene found a woman who had been killed, and learned that a baby had been taken from the home, purportedly by her father, Milburn.
Police said it was too early in the investigation to say if the deceased woman was baby Zyla's mother.
Police spent five hours on Tuesday looking for Milburn with the help of K-9 units, before suspending the search for the night
The incident began unfolding just after noon when a woman's body was found in the 5100 block of Brookdale Drive. Milburn's 14-month-old child who had been kidnapped from the crime scene was later found unharmed in Love County
Nearly four hours after police issued the Amber Alert for the missing baby, Zyla was found safe after being dropped off at the Love County jail by a woman believed to be Milburn's aunt, reported KFOR.
The baby is now in the custody of the local sheriff and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
While police scoured the area for Zyla, another killing was reported in the 24000 block of Southwest 95th Street, where a man was found shot dead inside a white pickup truck.
Police said the suspect, a slender black man in a white T-shirt matching Milburn’s description, was last seen leaving a home on Southeast 95th street in a truck after shooting the man.
According to investigators, the gunman drove to 104th Street, where he abandoned the stolen pickup truck and carjacked another vehicle. He then ditched that vehicle on 119th Street and fled on foot.
Milburn has been tied to a man's killing, to two separate carjackings and to a burglary
Milburn is also suspected of breaking into a home and pointing an AK-47 at the homeowner before running into the woods.
Authorities spent five hours searching for Milburn with K-9 units and a helicopter before suspending the operation for the night. The search resumed on Wednesday morning.
Brandon Milburn stands at 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 200lbs. He is believed to be wearing a white T-shirt and blue pajama pants. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to call 911.
