Father, 40, denies double murder after his wife, 40, and 18-year-old daughter had their throats slit in horrific attack in front garden of home

A father today denied murdering his wife and daughter after they had their throats slit in a horrific attack in the front garden of their home.   

Tesco worker Marcin Zdun, 40, allegedly killed his wife Aneta, also 40, and 18-year-old daughter Nikoleta at their family home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, on June 1.

Aneta, a carer, and Nikoleta, a college student, were discovered with terrible injuries at the front garden of the family home.

Today, Zdun appeared in the dock at Winchester Crown Court, Hampshire, with a security guard next to him.

Zdun allegedly killed his wife Aneta , also 40, and 18-year-old daughter Nikoleta at their family home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, on June 1 

The Polish supermarket worker, speaking through an interpreter as he has 'next to no English', spoke only to confirm his name and deny two counts of murder during the 15-minute hearing.

Judge Keith Cutler adjourned the case for trial on November 30. It is expected to last two to three weeks.  

The family, described as 'quiet but friendly' by neighbours, are said to have lived in Salisbury for around four years and are originally from Tarnow, Poland.

Friends of Nikoleta's paid tribute to the college student who dreamt of working abroad and had a passion for fashion and make up.

Abigail Perry, 18, said: 'She had a massive heart, she was a really warm and loving person.'

Lydia Hopkins, 17, said: 'She looked like a model, she was very pretty.' 

Aneta's colleagues have previously paid tribute to the 'warm, kind and caring' mother.

The directors of Wessex Care said: 'Those of you who knew Aneta personally and professionally will know what a warm, kind and caring individual she was, she had cared immensely for many vulnerable people throughout her career as a physiotherapist and healthcare assistant.'

Aneta's parents paid tribute to the neighbours and said the young children will now come to live with them in Poland.

They said: 'We'd like to thank, with all our hearts, the ambulance service, the police and all the neighbours and bystanders who helped try and save the lives of our daughter Aneta and our granddaughter Nikoleta.

'Also, thank you to everyone who took care of our young granddaughters after this event, including those working for social services, as well as all the people of good heart for their on-going help and support in these difficult times.

'Let God bless you - you will remain in our hearts forever.

'We would like to reassure everyone that our young granddaughters are safe and well and being cared for by our family.'

Zdun will face a jury trial at Salisbury Crown Court.
