A cruise ship entertainer will stand trial for murder in the Supreme Court after his blind cheerleader girlfriend fell to her death from the 11th floor of a Gold Coast apartment building.
Breeana Robinson's family were present at the Southport Magistrates Court on Friday as Magistrate Catherine Pirie ruled the case would be going to a jury - on the eighth anniversary of the 21-year-old's death.
Jayden Moorea allegedly threw Ms Robinson, who was legally blind, off the Southport building on January 29, 2013.
Moorea, formerly known as Daniel Shearin, has also been charged with damaging evidence, Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

Tears were shed at the Southport Magistrates Court as Magistrate Catherine Pirie ruled the case would be going to a jury on Friday, the eight anniversary of Ms Robinson's death. Ms Robinson's aunt Janine Mackney attended every day of the nine day committal hearing, holding a single pink rose to honour her niece.
'It's been a long time coming,' Ms Mackney said outside court on Friday.
'She was so young, she had so much to live for and it's just all been taken away.'
During the hearing, the court was told Ms Robinson's death was originally ruled a suicide by police and a full investigation was not opened until 2017.
Some neighbours were interviewed by police five years after the death and witnesses gave inconsistent accounts of how Ms Robinson landed, the court heard.

During the hearing, the court was told Ms Robinson's death was originally ruled a suicide by police and a full investigation was not opened until 2017
Neighbours also told the committal hearing they heard arguing on the night of the death, which they said was followed by a woman screaming 'no' and a loud thud.
One police officer told the court last week said they had an 'odd and concerning' conversation with Moorea that night, but did not make notes of it until 2018.
Ms Robinson's mum Elaine and brother Matthew thanked family, friends and the police in a statement read by Ms Mackney outside court.
'Our grief and love for Bree bonds us forever.'
Edyn Mackney, Ms Robinson's cousin, called the cheeleader 'sweet' and said she 'never had a bad word to say about anyone'.
'When you think dance, pink flowers and everything girly you think of her,' she said.
